- BTV otterPuerto Rico10 contributionsClear waterThis is a well organized beach business. Beach chairs are rented, drinks and food high quality and priced accordingly. The water is incredibly clear for snorkeling the shallow bay with a deep water drop off outside. Upon arrival find easy parking and a gate with a guard. The beach is large for Curaçao; there are shade trees, many chairs, small shops to rent gear and good restaurant with clean restrooms. A great family beach except for the people smoking cigarettes.Visited November 2023Travelled as a coupleWritten 9 December 2023
- Rod DalyMcDonough, Georgia440 contributionsClear waterGreat beach with great water, I liked this one a lot. You have a long road to get to it, but it is worth it. Parking was real close to the beach. There rocks and shells before you get deep enough to stand so wear good water shoes. Food was available and chair rentals as well. 3$ US a chair. Beach was clean. Plan on a whole day here. The tour companies rope off a section of chairs in the best spot but these people come and go so fast I don't see beach hopping tours being worth it.Visited December 2023Travelled as a coupleWritten 28 December 2023
- Compass3582253Hamilton, Canada24 contributionsLovely Beach!Beautiful beach! It is about 40 minutes from the cruise port…a large beach with plenty of shady spots and incredibly blue and clear water. You can rent kayaks, book a fabulous beach massage (recommend pre-book), sit at the bar or snorkel/scuba (equipment available for rent). Chairs are hard to come by (most pre reserved ny cruise ships for shore excursions) so bring a towel and an inflatable pillow and be prepared to lay on the beach, or grab one of the many picnic tables.Visited January 2024Travelled with friendsWritten 4 January 2024
- InspireMe_365Detroit, Michigan84 contributionsOne of our favorite beaches! We visited most of the beaches during our vacation and this was one of our favorites. We visited twice. The snorkeling is very good and the beach is beautiful. It was not overly crowded and it had very good amenities. The current can get strong if you swim very far past the point on the left. We cannot wait to come back and dive there.Visited December 2023Travelled as a coupleWritten 21 January 2024
- JOHNNY4 contributionsGreat beach and servicesGreat beach though the access to the water is a bit rocky and hard for older folks to access. Don't go for the palm shade units...Get there around 9AM (before the cruise crowds at 10) and sit at one of the tables under the shade trees...much better situation. Water was clear but not as clear as i had hoped. You have to snorkel out the the far right or left of cliffs to see much ocean life. The restaurant opens at 10 and had excellent food and mango slushies. Dive shop is also available. We stayed in home in Cas Aboa development so it was only 5 minutes away by car...Our go to beach.Visited March 2024Travelled with familyWritten 2 April 2024
- Ashley IPhiladelphia, Pennsylvania46 contributionsBeautiful beach with turquoise watersWhat an amazingly beautiful beach! The water was so clear and the water was very calm. We got there early in the morning before the cruise people arrived so it was quiet and we had a little area to ourselves. You do have to pay to enter but it’s very cheap - $6 per car. You also have to pay for sun loungers but the picnic tables were free to use to we set up there. There are bathrooms and a bar and even a massage area. As others mentioned, it is a bumpy drive on the access road but well worth it for the stunning views.Visited March 2024Travelled with familyWritten 6 April 2024

A lovely restaurant an washrooms. Parking available. Perfect for family, singles, couples. Wifi available and comfortable sun cots. You will love it. The best beach on Curacao.Visited May 2024Travelled with familyWritten 16 May 2024
- Katie G21 contributionsSnorkeling and a beach massageAmazing snorkeling right off shore. I must have seen 60 different kinds fish and water is crystal clear. Plus I got a 1 hour massage on the beach. Pretty sweet! The road to the beach is a little rough. Be prepared for that.Visited May 2024Travelled with friendsWritten 29 May 2024
- Chris V3 contributionsGreat all day beach for snorkelingDive shop, showers, snack bar, chaise rentals @$3, $6 entry fee. - Michelle V39 contributions💯 must goSpent the most time here, not very hard to get in/out of the water. Amazing scenery from the top. People including my daughter were jumping in from the cliffs. Parking was easy in the morning. $6 per car. We didn't rent chairs but put our stuff by a palm tree and spent an hour in the ocean on our personal beach tour.Visited August 2024Travelled with familyWritten 23 August 2024

The vast majority of the beach was roped off for cruise ship guests yet to arrive. The remaining paying guests were corralled into a tiny section with very few chairs. The staff were rude to non cruise guests leaving us to feel unwanted and unwelcome. We could not secure chairs or beach space so left after getting our money back. Note this was in the morning . Beautiful beach but won’t be back after this experience

We came to this amazing beach at 5 PM. We had to pay full entry fee, luckily we didn’t rent any sunbeds and sunshade, as we had to left the beach before 6 PM. The staff started to rush as out of water 20 minutes before 6 PM, because the beach was closing. Why to put a big photo of a lady taking a sunset pic next to the beach entrance, when it is impossible to take one? The sun sets down at 6:40, so you can’t carch it on camera. Secind big issue is, that the owner rents the entire middle part of the beach to a cruise tours, so you have to stay on sides which have mainly rocky entrance to the water and also a rocky sea bottom. This is a perfetc example how can greed destroy otherwise top-notch experience.

Beautiful unique beach. This beach was recommended to me by a local tour guide. It has gorgeous turquoise waters-entrance fee of $6 and $7 on Sundays. Very nice snack bar right in the middle had reasonable prices. There were two sides to this beach- a rocky side (water shoes are a MUST) and a sandier side. On the Sandy side note that the waves were bigger and a bit of a tide. It was a bit rough for my little daughter. We ended up sitting near the shore together and I then went snorkeling in the rockier side with my teen son. We had a blast. Not too many fish to see but the water was beautiful with gentle waves. Definitely recommend this beach a real local experience!!!

Spent afternoon at Cas Abao beach. Many amenities, including beach chair rentals, snorkel equipment rentals, bathrooms and a small restaurant/bar. There were also lockers but they were expensive ($8) compared to other beaches in the area. Also no wifi available at the bar. Snorkeling here was not as good as at Playa PortoMari.

Although this is a pay per entry beach, the entry fee is really high to drive down an unlaced dirt road. Put some of all that money into paving the road. We then paid $3 USD per chaise beach chair. Okay you have taken our money. Luckily we love islands and deal with what one must do.

A nice beach which is rather wide. If you want a place in the shadow, you need to arrive early as all the parasols are fixed and quickly occupied. Take your own food and drinks (in a cool box preferably) as the restaurant serves only simple food and drinks.

As I write this I have Ojays "Use Ta be My Girl" playing in my head b/c this was our favorite beach. And when I say our, I mean the group of us that would always go for the past 6-10 years. I've been going for 12 as a resident here. Pretty much our go-to beach. I understand getting cruise ships there to boost business and get some extra cash flow but, come on, don't caution tape off the best parts where it it isn't super rocky. Which is the far right side.
"Well, you should get there earlier" you say. We do. First thing as it opens up, we would get a nice spot and set up for the day and stay until close. When we would leave, we would make sure everything was cleaned up, and give a big shout to "The Bao" for another lovely beach day with the Curacao homies. However, these past 6 or 7 months that doesn't even matter b/c 30 - 40% of the beach is cation taped off and you can't really enjoy it. Should be first come, first serve like all the other beaches in Curacao. I do feel bad for people taking in flights to see this absolutely gorgeous beach b/c when they arrive, there is caution tape like an investigation is underway.
*****With all that aside, the people at the Dive Shop are absolutely top notch and great people to dive with. The Chickie Nuggies at the little restaurant are fantastic and the chair people are nice. The taping off the beach has nothing to do with the Dive Shop and the Restaurant there. So, on that note....I will leave the beach with a little Player "Baby Come BACK."
P.S. Sorry to the security guy on the beach that I yelled at for the taping off. Not your fault bud, you're just doing your job.

This beach was beautiful and the best place to snorkel. I wish we could have spent a few more hours there. They have a little restaurant, bathrooms, an open-air dive shop, place to get a beachside massage and plenty of parking. I didn't like how everything was roped off for cruise ship tours with caution tape because it looked unnatural but we were part of that group and paid about $50 USD each to go to the beach from the terminal in Willemstad. It was well worth it to see!!!

There are some great things about Cas Abao beach: you can buy a drink or lunch at the snack shack/bar, there are palapas and other areas with shade, the water was beautiful and fairly calm, there’s a wide beach so lots of room, there are restrooms and a dive shop. The sand is very fine and soft compared to some beaches although there’s also rocks, dead coral pieces and sticks to negotiate while getting into the water. If you’re just swimming, water shoes are a good idea. Chair rental was US$3 each, bring small US bills! Entry to the beach costs US$6 per car during the week and we paid by credit card which was nice since we didn’t have a lot of small bills. Snack shack also takes credit cards. The snorkeling was decent and safe, but you can see more fish at Playa Lagun. It was a quiet day when we went but I’m sure it gets crowded, loud, and busy when the cruise ship passengers come or if a tour brings a lot of people to the beach. It was a pleasant day and I’d recommend it if you’re looking for a beach that you can just relax at.

Despite the many tourist comments: the beach is clean, there is a good bar + the entrance fee for a car at ANG 10.00 is OK. The loungers under an umbrella, if you can get one, cost ANG 5.00 per lounger. This includes a shower coin, which is available at the bar. The beach + the showers are cleaned. The diving school swims to the left. For snorkeling, there are lots of fish to be seen on the rocks to the left + a little further out, not spectacular, but beautiful. Patience is important; 1 hour at least!
Wi-Fi only near the bar. There are enough parking spaces. On Sundays it is always particularly busy, including with locals.

Not sure about price but it is probably a 45 minute(ish) ride. The bigger issue would be getting back as there is not a taxi stand at the beach. B Diving is the dive shop on the beach. If you email them, I’m sure they will email back with better information.

Espero puedas ayudarme! Muchas gracias

Hallo Francoran, we had a car to go to the beach. But we also saw busses which brought people from cruise ships to this beach. I think it will be very hard to go there by line busses ? You are not sure if they arrive right in time. So I would say, go by the tour busses from the habour, they will wait at beach to bring you back.
