Good all inclusive hotel situated on a peninsula. Good beach, food and clean. Lots of activities on site and some watersports included free. Within a day trip to Havana and Bay of Pigs. Go mainly for the resort as not much else nearby other then Dolphin Centre. Varadero disappointing - not much there.

The paintings were very interesting, many bats, cool nooks to explore. A bit expensive at 5CUC for 10-20 minutes. They want 2CUC after for a sticker that supposedly protects the bats. Isn't that what part of the 5CUC for? And does the 2CUC really go to it?

This site is located 900 meters from the Musulmanes (also on the main road) and is called "Cueva de Ambrosio" Ambrosio Cave $5 CUC. These caves have 72 pre-Columbian drawings from the Taino people that are believed to be 2000 years old. The caves also contain fruit eating bats which won't harm you but you have to be OK to... 5 CUC to get in, and worth it. It only takes about 20 minutes to go through. Lots of bats, pretty dark but they give you a flashlight.

We walked from Melia las Antillas to check the caves out. Its not free, but the guide comes in with you and provides lots of good information. It is a nice little excursion that gets you off the resort and maybe burns off a few calories before you hit the next buffet.

First, the location shown on the Tripadvisor map is not at all accurate. It's on the highway just around the corner from the Royalton and the Iberostar Varadero. You could easily walk from these 2 hotels. The cave itself is interesting and you should listen to the guide because it won't mean much without him. You will probably spend about... More

If you want to overcome your fear of bats, come through this cave. Bats are awesome to begin with but seeing so many in such a small area was amazing. Lots of chirps and squeeks, different species, well worth the short walk through.

Ok tour a bit boring. Was included in package, would not pay to go here. City tour was mainly a drive by with a 30 min stop

I never thought I would get so close to live bats! Well worth the 5 pesos! Only 1 kilometer from Starfish Varadero so we walked there. They gave us a flashlight and pointed out some of the many cave paintings then just let us explore at our own pace.

Stopped by as we had seen it from the tourist bus. Glad we did. Probably too expensive at 5cuc a person but hey it was something to do. Interesting cave and Rene gives you a great tour explaining all about the cave. There are fruit bats in the cave so if you have an issue with them then maybe take... More
