Stunning

Went on a day trip which was good value for money. If you like lobster I would recommend that upgrade option- it was yummy. Beautiful beaches, the sea is bath warm and crystal clear. Other half hired a jet ski. Crab racing and entertainment was fun.

WANT THE TOUR OF YOUR LIFE? BE SMART
Nov. 2019
Most tours offered by the Air lines or hotel tour representatives are a gambling. One can be lucky and have a good captain or good whether and even a nice crowed. Sometimes you can get a lobster tail but things can work the other way around and you get fish and bread, bad whether/rain wind/a captain who is inexperience/and a negative crowed on the boat. SO WHAT IS THE WAY TO GET A GOOD TRIP TO CAYO BLANCO? Unfortunately (I must recommend against booking with airlines or hotel booths), Instead take the buss or a taxi and drive out to the marina and go talk to the marina head master at the office that is located all the way at the end over the bridge by the "PRIVATE SECTION TOURS" and book there. They will check the whether charts and advise OF a good day to sail out, Also pay a bit more and take a private boat (cost is about $500.00 Cuban Pesos but includes 4 people any extra persons pay about an extra $50.00 The boat will offer free bar service, music, privacy, fishing, snorkel and a great fresh of the day catch meal. They can take you out to a more secluded private beach where you can go ashore and be 100% private... Live and learn, Cuba is a safe place so no one is going to bother you. Enjoy.

Not worth it!
Feb. 2020
We too booked the "Seafari Cayo Blanco" excursion via Air Transat and paid $93 CDN. I give this one star simply because the food was better than what we were getting at our resort; otherwise, not worth it. Firstly, there are at least 8 catamarans and various other vessels that converge on this beach for the day. All vessels were full up so our group got stuck on a boat, not catamaran and they clearly were not prepared for us. All you get is rum & coke, beer, water, or rum punch. That’s it! Also, the guide spoke plenty of Spanish and I had to keep asking him to please repeat in English. Overall, I feel they don’t cater to Canadians at all but the visitors from Central America, South America, and Europe get plenty of attention. Oh well, we’ll go elsewhere. Lastly, the island itself - plenty of shade and palapas, but still, a bit nuts with hordes of people lining up for food. The beach itself is quite shallow so perfect for children, although the Varadero beach is much nicer. It's not an overly long beach so you can't really go for a long walk. Yes, there is washed up seawood so if this freaks you out, well get used to it. It's a natural part of beaches and some locations do not rake due to environmental awareness. I’m an avid snorkeler and was not impressed with this part of the day. There is so much boat traffic while you’re snorkeling, we witnessed someone almost get caught under a passing vessel, and also, visibility was quite poor. I’ve been to better snorkel sites in Cuba. Lastly, they don’t offer fins on the boat. There was a current so I didn’t stay in the water for long. They do provide life jackets, but not snorkel belts. So basically you wait an hour on the bus while you pick others up, then you wait to get on a free catamaran or boat, then you wait if you’re not snorkeling, then you wait for lunch, then you wait for your departure, then you wait on the bus again for everyone to get back from their respective catamaran’s, then you finally get taken to your hotel. So, if you like waiting – this is an awesome day trip!

Very disappointing beach, covered in seaweed! We spent over 200$ USD for this excursion that was not worth it at all! We relied on the Google reviews which were phenomenal! The only good part of this excursion was the catamaran ride with Ciocolate (excellent entertainer and people person). If you enjoy loud music and partying, you’ll enjoy the ride! The visit on the island is not worth a penny! Don’t pay for the lobster, it’s not worth the 25$ USD (it’s not even a complete lobster as they claim, you’ll notice that the lobster claws have been removed!). Total let down!

Very expensive beach time
Feb. 2020
My husband and I booked the 'Seafari' catamaran trip which was to include sailing to and from Cayo Blanco island, buffet lunch, drinks, snorkeling and some beach time for collecting shells etc. We did not sail to Cayo Blanco, we went completely under moter which was very disappointing. We arrived on the island at noon and where told lunch would not be until 1. There were no shells and the beach not very long for even walking. The water was fairly chilly and our hotel beach was way better. There was lots of rum and beach chairs so most people started drinking before eating, not the best combo. Lunch was okay. A tray of plain cabbage, plain tomatoes, 2 kinds of rice, jello, spaghetti, a couple of unidentifiable dishes and chicken, fish and seafood chowder. Not 5 star but we enjoyed what we did eat. We could have ordered lobster for 15cuc (20cdn) but didn't since we can get it in Canada for 8cdn. 1Then we were told we weren't leaving until 3 so more beach chairs....and lots more rum for some. When we boarded the boat to go back, we were told that we would be under sail. This was not the case. The front small sail was raised but we still motored back so we were super disappointed. The crew was very entertaining on the way back but it isn't very hard to entertain a boatload of people who drank too much rum. Fun day but too much time doing nothing which we could have done at our hotel and too much money for what we got...

Amazing Beach
Jan. 2020 • Couples
Beautiful beach! We booked a catamaran excursion with Cubatur for $69 CUC each. Shop around for prices, it is way more expensive at the resort. They will offer an appetizer of a full lobster for $15 CUC. They don’t have claws and are super spiky. If you aren’t familiar with eating a full lobster, it isn’t really worth it. The beach is amazing and the drinks are great. Highly recommend

They knew the water conditions
Jan. 2020
I have taken this excursion before.

If you want to cancel you need to cancel so many hours before but we were told Sunday would be good for weather but...

We could see the white caps on the ocean from our hotel and with this excursion, we had not booked the dolphins as it had been something I had done prior but we had our snorkel and fins as that is what we had wanted to do.

We had been advised about another excursion that if the waters were too rough they would take us to the Caribean side of Cuba, well, there was no compensation, the beach was not cleaned from debris, so basically a very expensive day at the beach with a boat ride at $69 CUC which equals $69 USD plus exchange penalties.
