Artist Jose Fuster's home, studio, and neighborhood was an interesting way to spend an hour on our extra afternoon when we had nothing planned. It was a pretty long drive from central Havana and would not require more than an hour once you arrive. The tile covered structures remind you of Gaudi.

Fusterlandia has the feel of a weird American roadside attraction --- a folk art house that became something bigger than itself. It doesn't really seem to fit into Cuba at all, but that's what makes it a fun stop. The attraction mainly consists of one house decked out in art. There are some souvenir vendors that have clung on and... More

Completely off the beaten path, completely unexpected. We took the T1 sightseeing bus from Parque Central, all the way till the final stop of the route. Then, after a 10 min collective ride, boom! A bubble of colour and magic and psychodelia. Fuster has created quite a charming experience in this neighborhood of Jaimanitas. Worth the visit!

Fuster has created an extraordinary lived-in work of art. he has out-Gaudied Gaudi. His mosaics cover walls throughout the town. He has created a fantasy world in his own image. This should be part of any visit to Havana.

What a great hidden gem of community art. You should be able to get here with a 7-9 CUC from central havana. Its free so that should be your only cosr.

Located in a residential suburb of Havana, Fusterlandia is a unique and fun artistic landscape. José Fuster has decorated quite a number of his neighbours homes so it provides a charming, colourful and whimsical path to Fusterlandia. The art work is kooky and sometimes a bit bizarre but that's what makes it fun. Our place was only a 10 minute... More

The little town was delightful with a few shops with very reasonable prices. We enjoyed everything up to the time we decided to have a beer and sandwich in the only place to eat in town (at the intersection of the two main streets). The cheese sandwich was a slice of american cheese on a large bun. Ok, we're not... More

We had no idea what to expect and thoroughly enjoyed this "Gaudi"-style home and environs. Some nice little shops on the street too.

If I was completely honest I would categorise this as something to do if you're in Havana with a spare hour or so to kill, but not to make a special point of going out of your way to see. Located some way from the centre of Havana in a primarily residential area, this isn't as extensive as I imagined... More
