I spent several days wandering the streets of old Havana. It delivers a great atmosphere. A lot of the old building are desperate for some loving tender and care.

Havana is a fabulous city locked in a time capsule. The decay of the city is stunning, yet breathtaking. Every building looks like a shadow of a glorious time. The great thing is, it's so safe. You can feel good walking the streets even at night. For men, you will get some aggressive 'women' that will shadow you. And be... More

It's such a beautiful place to be and see time has not changed. The Capitorio is beautiful and the structures in the entire Old Havana is fascinating. It's hard to describe but it should be on your bucket list.

We did a walking tour with bus transportation through Nexus tours and were amazed at the depth of knowledge our tour guide Alex possessed. We saw the cathedral of St Francis, the Capitalito building, the famous statue of Jose Marti, old frescos and stunning architecture down cobbled streets. I strongly recommend taking a guided tour so that beautiful Old Havana... More

The Cubans take such pride in their culture and architecture. There are a number of old buildings in Habana Vieja which are being carefully restored to their original state. Wonderful to see.

....and a future I hope she still has. To say I'm blown away is putting it mildly. Havana in the 1920's, 30's, 40's and 50's was one of the most glamorous places on the planet. Sure, today much of it is crumbling and in disrepair, but you can see the redevelopment occurring - maybe not as fast as it needs... More

Lots of good places to eat covering all budgets. Beware of the promises of the guys in the street. Seek and ye shall find.
