Maria la Gorda is a remote area with beautiful beaches. An excellent place to relax at the end of your holiday because you will not find many tourists here (like Varadero). You can do a diving trip or do some snorkeling right of the beach....More

A local recommended to come here as this beach seems very isolated and not overcrowded by tourists. And so was it. The marine life is rich in life and the suba diving tour with Angel was fun, as we visited 4 spots to dive around....More

Government owned resort providing very basic lodging. Staff is great. Very friendly and do well with what they have to work with. Linens dingy and tattered. Hot water and electricity frequently off. Almost no acceptable internet. Grounds not lush. Meals were decent and the same...More

Maria La Gorda is an excellent location if you go scuba diving otherwise I would not go all the way down there

This is a government-run resort which you reach by a long drive along fantastic, protected, pristine coastline, full of wildlife. PLEASE PROTECT YOUR LEGS against sandflies!! Not a huge deal, but my legs were covered in itchy bites, which was my fault for wearing shorts...More

Wow. Spend three days here for relaxing, swimming and snorkeling. Went on turtle safari one night and long waiting time was rewarded: we saw a green turtle more than 1 m laying eggs..... food and rooms better than expected
