Boca Slagbaai, what struck us with Boca Slagbaai is the power it resembles if the waves touch land . The color is darker than Northern parts of Bonaire , the ocean is wllder but still intriguing . Boca Slagbaai can be reached via the long route of Washington Slagbaai .

Boca Slagbaai is on the west shore of the national park, and is one of the few places in the park with restroom facilities. It has some nice shaded picnic areas, and the cliffs on the south side of the beach seem to be a popular spot for cliff jumping (about a 15 foot leap). This is also one of... More

When driving through the Washington-Slagbaai National Park, this beach was our teenagers' reward for going to all of the hot and historic and educational spots that we wanted to see. The bumpy truck ride through miles of cactus was fun for them, but THIS was the BEST! We went back a second time just to get to this spot on... More

This place is worth the trip, just because it is something pretty unique, but you've got to plan accordingly. You'll want to make sure you have enough gas when you arrive, that your vehicle can handle the rough roads, and finally that you arrive early enough in the day to accomplish everything you want to do. We met a couple... More

You can't go wrong by taking the drive throughout this park. You could stand for hours taking it all in.

Do not miss going into the Washington-Slagbaai National Park. This is one of the beautiful sights you will see. The entire coastline with the blowholes, color of the water, etc. is simply amazing. It is a great way to spend the day. Make sure to bring along a cooler with food & drinks as there is nothing in the park.

This is a perfect place to pull over and enjoy a little lunch/snack during your visit. You will have the ocean in front of you and flamingos behind you. The diving is average but the scenery and views are worth the visit. They have a toilet and running water so you're able to wash your hands and use the restroom... More

Stopped for a few hours on our trip around the national park. The beach is great and has nice benches in the shade of trees, good for picnics. The snorkeling and diving is average, lots of dead coral. There are functioning toilets here.

This is one of the famous / well known spots of Bonaire. If you type in Bonaire you always will get at least one picture of Boca Slagbaai. The name Slagbaai comes from the past when they killed ( or in Dutch slachten) the goats and salted them before they were send to Curaçao. It is also a very nice... More
