About
The Mangazina di Rei (1824) was used by the Dutch government to store provisions for the slaves. This second oldest stone building on Bonaire now forms part of our Cultural Park where visitors can see, feel & taste the culture of Bonaire. A guided tour includes history to experience, instruments to play, great views to enjoy and a traditional beverage that's worth to taste.A fascinating way to soak the local culture. You will never forget it!

Insightful and diverse exhibition
Dec. 2020
Great fixed exhibition, I really got a wonderful and insightful glimpse into the history and culture of the island. The exhibition covers a large variety of elements on the island from Geology, Flora and Fauna, Local Musical Instruments, interesting facts about Bonaire just after WW II and a look into the unique fusion of cultures that created the architectural designs on the island. A must to visit if you on the island! It will enrich your experience and understanding of Bonaire.

Go on the last Saturday of the month
Feb. 2020
We were fortunate to have been in Bonaire when the Cultural Park holds a cultural event and market with local musicians, dancers, informative talks, local artisans and food. It's held the last Saturday of every month. We loved the music and dancers and really enjoyed talking to the local artists. You can pick up wonderful items to bring back home. Presentations by local are informative - one we heard by a local scientist was about the current effects of climate change on island life and what to expect in the future.

Great mixture of history and culture
Jan. 2020
The culture of the island is well illustrated in the museum and the culture really come to life with the music and dance demonstrations. The demonstration of making catus hedging was particularly good. The one demonstrator was particularly good at answering any questions asked. Well worth a visit.

A few hours
Apr. 2019 • Family
This place is a great place to spend some hours. They have a very elaborate museum, with a great guide. If you are lucky, you can experience a little bit more on a Saturday. Twice a month on a Saturday, they have a cultural activity with a local band were you can buy some local stuff. Off course typical food too! There are some old ladies in their typical dresses selling handmade things. You have to try some local food, drigidek and some homemade lemon juice!

Great way to send a couple of hours

The museum is located just south of Rincon. The museum is excellent and provides a history of the island as well as other information about the people and geography. The displays are well designed with most written materiel in English. We would highly recommend a visit.

Excellent Museum
Mar. 2019 • Friends
I really enjoyed visiting this Museum. The manager in charge Mr Izaian is not your traditional guide, he is also a musician and excellent dancer. We learned about Bonaire history and culture in a very fun and way. It makes a difference. Chose from a tour along the coast to reach the Museum.

An example of what an history museum of a small island should be
Feb. 2019 • Couples
The museum is a treasure trove of information about Bonaire if you are curious. We are here for 4 months, and wish we had gone the first week here instead of the 5th. The displays and stories are really helpful to understand how this tiny island fits into the rest of the area's history. A couple of examples - the background of the Dutch takeover, from Spain, after being at war with Spain about religion for 80 years, and being denied salt (what, no salted herring??!). Or the tie in to the Slave Trade Triangle (a great museum about that on Curacao, Kuranda). Plus local fauna, not just "this is a Turk's Head Cactus" but how it was important to locals. Birds we saw while driving up, with explanations of what they were and their importance. How flamingos (chogogos) hatch and raise their young. We've been to most of the islands in the Caribbean and none have such a useful history laid out. Well done, Rincon!
