Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Lac Cai is a unique environment . The color of the water is very very amazing . If you are lucky you may see some turtles swimming . On the East part you may see the Karko shells piled up which are protected now and are not allowed to touch in the water . The road leading to this part is very bumpy and probably quite different from what you are used to at home . This is an adventure as such .
The West part of Lac Cai shows some places like Sorobon or Jive City where you can have lunch or dinner of relax on the beaches on which many surfers are around . We should warn you in this part you may findf some broken glasses in the sand , which is not handy for your bare feet or worse your children . I had the nasty experience to have a injection needle which got stuck in my sandal and damaged my foot a bit and therefore need to go to see my doctor to make sure all is fine . I pitty the people whom are sloppy with these kind of garbages . Lac Cai and people visiting need to be cherished .

We made it on that bumpy road. Be warned! It is bumpy. The turn to the bay was covered by bushes, so look for a dirt road to the right along the paved highway. That is where you turn. We were disappointed we did not see turtles while snorkeling. The water was very calm. We were also too late (2:15) on a Sunday for the fish meal at the Lac Bay Bar at then end of the bump road. So go by 12 to be sure to get the fish meal.

This dive site is fantastic! The entry is super easy in very calm area near the bar/restaurant. The channel goes out/in170/350 around 20 ft or 7m deep. Strong current pushing out. The first thing you will notice are the never ending HUGE anemones! They are everywhere. Then in the right season (nov - feb) starfish! On this dive we got to the wall (the end of the outbound channel) and waiting for us were at the LEAST 75 tarpon schooled on the reef. Very curious and stayed close. Lobster aplenty also! You never know what you will see here. If you don't want to brace the channel dive, stay in the sheltered bay area. Tons to see here too (turtles abound).
After the dive especially on Sundays, enjoy live music and exquisite conch stew with funchi (polenta) and an ice cold Polar beer. It doesn't get any better than this.

We got a tip to come here Sunday morning around 11am to eat fish caught by the local fishermen, between the locals with live music. After arriving we walked around on the beach admiring the views & piles of conch shells. Then we placed our order of mangrove snappers. This took 2 hours (yes, you read correctly, TWO hours). Nothing complicated, deep fried fish with rice and vegetables. People around us complaining, even walking off without their food. The feeling was that the locals were being fed and the tourists having to wait. What tipped the iceberg was when asked how much longer we would have to wait, the young girl claimed that we were told there was a 2 hour wait. Not true. After which I stayed at the bar until the food came (within 10 mins).
Conclusion: We got the food and polished it off, wanting to leave. Was it worth the wait? Mwah.
If you come to Lac Cai, bring your own food & drinks to avoid any frustrations. Shallow waters, fine sand and some shaded spots.

We went here to snorkel and hopefully to see turtles. However, the water was extremely murky and you couldn't see more than about 4 feet! Perhaps the weather conditions caused the clarity issues, but this review is for our snorkeling experience, so for that I couldn't recommend this site.

We came here as part of a cruise shore excursion and enjoyed how clear the water is and how peaceful this beach is. It's slightly different than most Caribbean beaches but still a fun place to go.

you will find this beach at lak Bay, on the other side of Sorobon beach. You will need a car to come here.
This is mostly a quiet beach, not really a restaurant or washrooms at that moment.
Not good for snorkeling but greta for sandy beach. Sometimes when there is cruise ship, there are a lot of tourists. Not a big problem, they will leave after 2 hours.
There are people living there and they have dogs which love to play at the beach.
But they are really lovely and will not get to you, so no problem.
NOT a place fo sunset!

Do you know what a Mangrove tree is? Have you ever kayaked through the trees? Do you know why Mangrove forests are so important for the coral reef ?
Well you will and learn more if you visit this attraction and if you're lucky enough to have Kim as your guide, you will consider it an afternoon well spent. Really can't recommend this highly enough.

Gorgeous but AMATEUR WINDSURFERS HAVE TAKEN OVER THE AREA… You must be on Full alert 100 % of the time … It’s absolutely dangerous … I would recommend another beach … This has turned into a Cruise Ship Tourist Stop
