We really enjoyed our 4 hour hike with Stephen today. He know the area well and shared lots of history with us. The hike was his 6 mike version (10k) starting at bath bay and hiking into the jungle up the hills. If you enjoy hiking, I definitely recommend Hike Barbados. It was not a difficult hike but certainly you... More

We googled hiking in Barbados as our hotel had none to recommend. We found Steve's company, read the reviews on TripAdvisor and decided to book a 4 mile hike. He picks you up for a slight charge and charges 200 usd for the trip(with options for 4,6 and 8 miles). First thing you notice is Steve is a gringo but... More

In January 2016, I began researching what to do on the beautiful island of Barbados. We are avid hikers so when I came across this private hiking experience, I reached out to Stephen Mendes via email and confirmed reservations. I received confirmation emails regarding where to meet him with explicit instructions and pictures. On the day of our agreed meeting,... More

I have never missed a hike before for any reason whatsoever.... so here are the details: 1. The hike was booked in January of 2016 for November 2. when hikes are firmly booked I enter them in my phone calendar 3. In addition to this, I usually check each month the email inbox on my computer just to be sure... More

Stephen took me and my family on a 6 mile hike through the Christ Church area of Barbados. We walked through some local villages, some forest, and some beach. Bring plenty of water for everyone to drink! Scenery was excellent, we learned some interesting things from Stephen on this hike. Would definitely do again. The 6 mile hike was relatively... More

We've been hiking with Stephen every November for the last 8 years and wouldn't dream of not booking a hike. In fact we're talking with him now about a date for November 2015. Stephen's hikes are customized to the skill level and time available of his clients. Over the years he's taken us all over the island to places we... More

Let me start, this is an awesome hike. We did the 6 mile. The trail, the hiking, and the views are incredible. Now, Stephen is interesting. He wasn't on time to pick us up and did not have gas enough for the trip. I am used to to guides that are extremely knowledgeable about their area. Stephen likes to talk... More

We took a 6 mile hike with Stephen after reading excellent reviews on Trip Advisor and we weren't disappointed. With Hike Barbados you can explore parts of the island that are rugged and untouristed. We would highly recommend a day out walking with Stephen. All you need are some trainers, sunscreen and water. You will be collected from your accommodation.... More

Stephen is awesome! Hands down, he is so friendly and accomodating. He really went out his way to make sure we enjoyed our 2 mile hike. It was pretty easy for us. If we had more time, we would have done a longer hike. The ride up to the eastern part of the island is scenic, so it's a 2... More

OMG OMG have been joining this mainly locals hike with several different ability levels for a few years now. Tourists welcome but fit tourists. I have done the stop and stare level up to the grin and bear it and it is a challenge for each level. Every Sunday a different location is chosen and starts at 6:00am in the... More

On this vacation, I wanted to do a fun tour that incorporated cultural and historical aspects of the island. The Hike Barbados four mile hike did not disappoint. After leaving our starting point at Bath Beach, St. John, we headed through the jungle-like back roads encountering some pretty steep terrain. It was so nostalgic walking through the small villages that... More
