Bridgetown Barbados was our third port stop in the cruise. Bought shore excursion and this church was one of the stops. This church is old and has a Gothic feel in it. It has an interesting cemetery at the back and a stunning view of the coast. It's awesome that they were able to preserve the church's structure and it's... More

St. John's church is obviously an older church and is obviously well tended and loved by its parishioners. The beautiful wood work speaks to dedication and craftsmanship that is missing in so many newer sanctuaries. I enjoyed a few minutes to just sit quietly and reflect on the blessings I have been given. Outside the views are incredible! Breathtaking is... More

A little history - The Church was destroyed two times by fire and then a hurricane. it was rebuilt in 1836. The interior has been maintained beautifully. Be sure to go out behind the Church - what a beautiful vista!

This is a really neat place. The history and the architecture are amazing. Take lots of pictures. The graves have many English surnames and very old along with some recent. The plant life is beautiful with many different colors. The building itself is gorgeous both inside and out. You'll need about 45 minutes here.

This Barbadian Landmark is one of my favorites on the island. The church and it's grounds are a gorgeous walk in time and the views from the cliff side are to die for.

Having stumbled upon this now in need of some maintenance, church and rectory its was well worth finding. The balconied church has lovely wooden pews, alter and roof. Perhaps the graveyard with its amazing views of the east coast holds some magic. The tombs are unusual, sad to see the grave of the young prime minister and uplifting to see... More
