We arrived at Barbados Cruise Terminal ready for our 2 weeks sail around the Caribbean, we went into the town of Barbados, what a lovely little town, people are friendly, the pubs are clean and cheap - everyone is so laid back. We liked it that much, we are going back next year.

Going Downtown to shop was a waste of time. It isn't pretty - the shops have all the same stuff as the port shopping. There isn't anywhere you would want to stop have a drink or people watch.....i wish we had planned something else in this port stop.

Downtown shopping was a great experience especially at Columbian Emeralds International jewelry store. The staff was very friendly, accommodating, and professional! Prices on high end jewelry was competitive. Worked with store manager Cyrilene! Love, love, love her energy! I

Downtown shopping isn't worth the trip. The was only 1 store worth the visit and had some Barbados souvenirs in the back. The front and other stories of the store were all the same items we have back home at twice the price.

Bridgetown has several dozen retail shopping locations. Most all of them are major names (Tiffany's caliber jewelery shops) and watch vendors. Prices are competitive, all seemed to be about 10-15% below US prices. I had expected a 'flea market' kind of setting, but its much more metropolitan and high end. Great place if you looking for bargains on high end... More

Parking a bit tricky, so have a bit of fun and use the local buses. The fare is always $2 Bds wherever you go. A definite experience. Plenty of shops and bars, and quite a bit cheaper than shops on the West coast.

A couple of weeks ago we had the pleasure to have Orlando give us a driving tour of Barbados. Orlando took us to many sites and provided much colorful information about Barbadian culture and life as well as the beautiful places we visited. At one of Orlando's favorite sites, we witnessed dramatic scenery and the power of the ocean. At... More

After a number of trips to Barbados and the chance to compare prices the best advice is to research ahead of time. We found camera prices were cheaper in Canada. Shorts, beachwear (Quicksilver etc.) are no bargain in Barbados. Some tags at Cave Sheppard (dept store) advertised their duty free price (you need to show your passport to get this... More
