- Pete STampa, Florida566 contributionsGreat viewsNice old lighthouse with a giftshop, and if you need souvenirs buy them there, they are a lot cheaper than in the city. 183 stairs to climb for best views and they charge 2.50. Well worth it if you can handle the steps.Visited March 2024Travelled as a coupleWritten 28 March 2024
- freutmich766 contributionsAmazing Views - Even From Ground-LevelTime was tight when I stopped here, so I wasn't able to climb to the top. But even without going higher up, the views from the base of the lighthouse are amazing! Whether you're able to climb the steps in the lighthouse, or just want to get out of a car and look from the parking lot, the views here are among the best on the island.Visited June 2024Travelled with familyWritten 4 June 2024
- Pat S17 contributionsGibbs LighthouseThis was a stop on an island tour we took. It’s very pretty light house. We did not pay to walk up to the top. But the views of the island from the bottom are beautiful. Visit the gift shop. Prices are low for souvenirs !Visited June 2024Travelled with familyWritten 23 June 2024

The Gibb's Hill Lighthouse is worth an hour of your time. It is located at the Henry VIII restaurant stop on the bus route, so it is very easy to get to. From the stop, it is a 15 minute walk (somewhat uphill) to the lighthouse. There are bathrooms and a little gift shop at the base on the lighthouse. Tickets were $2.50. You can climb the stairs to the top of the lighthouse and view most the island from either the inside or the outside. We visited on a windy day and the outside view was exciting!
A note of caution. The lighthouse was built in the 1840s and it is made of cast iron. So, the inside is a bit warm and stuffy. My wife and I are in pretty good shape and we were pretty sweaty by the time we reached the top. The lighthouse is obviously not accessible if you have mobility problems.

Once you exit the bus, walk up the hill 10 min. Nice gentlemen runs the gift shop ( has drinks, snacks and souvenirs) and tickets at base. $2.50 each to get in. Can climb stairs all the way to top, with landings and some artifacts along the way, go through a tiny door to outside.

Nice old lighthouse. $2.50 per person to walk up the 187 or so fairly narrow stairs. A number of resting points in the way up if needed. Wish the glass was more clean for photos at the top.

It’s only a couple of dollars to climb the lighthouse. You get a million dollars view. It is breathtaking. The actual climb has small landing along the way that you can rest at. Mid day it is a bit warm in there but worth climbing. Also their gift shop has the best prices on the Island

A tough climb for this bird but well worth it! The view from the top is spectacular! We did not venture outside to the platform— too windy that day. Tickets are sold in the gift shop. We talked to the man working there for about 20 minutes, about entering the lighthouse and so forth. Never did he mention that he was the one selling the tickets! So we went went back and bought them, not a big deal, just a little odd!

Gibb's Hill Lighthouse was my first light house I actually went in and went up all the steps. Gibb's Hill had 185 steps and it almost made me have an asthma attack but I did make it. The view was very nice. I took panoramic pictures of the entire island. I went to the gift shop and bought post cards, an ornament and a key chain.

A must-see place in Bermuda is the Gibbs Lighthouse. The Gibbs Lighthouse is one of the oldest cast-iron lighthouses built in 1844 on a hill. It has 185 steps and is 354 feet above sea level. On top is a beautiful view of all of Bermuda.
Close to the Gibbs Lighthouse you can splash around on Horseshoe Bay and its famed pink sand beach. Nearby is Elbow Beach as well as Warwick Long Bay where you can take a half-mile walk on the sand or snorkel 100 yards out.

We didn’t climb the lighthouse, but hopped off the public bus, hiked up Lighthouse Road and enjoyed the views from the bench at the base. We’ve climbed many a lighthouse worldwide and after the hike up the hill in the mid day sun, thought it best to take a pass. Views from The Queens View are equally breathtaking.

How much is it, do they take USD?
Also, how can we get here from Hamilton?
Written 17 January 2018
A visit to the Lighthouse is only $5.00 US $ are the same as BD$ from Hamilton you could either go by Taxi or you could take the #7 bus from the Hamilton Bus Station it is the Best view of the Island in my opinion also you will find a little gift shop there as well very reasonably priced

Any bus 7 or 8. It is equidistant from middle road and south beach road. I suggest south road as Henry 8ths pub is at end of road for refreshments or food.

how many "pit" stops are there on the way up??
Written 4 August 2016
Hi! Very few! We went on a humid, rainy day and the trek up was a little worse then it would have been if nice weather. I believe they have on-site restrooms however.
Hope this helps.
