Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Granted, i'm extremely partial to Mangrove Bay as for us it is 'home'. After looking at 21 spots to live (back in Oct. 2010), we chose Mangrove Bay because it feels so like you're 'on holiday' compared to the bustle of the rest of Bermuda. The small strip of shops along the sweep of Mangrove Bay are NOT over run with tourists and the 'locals' nod and greet you on the street. Visually, the Bay is one of the most picture perfect on the island (Ely's, on the way out of town on the left being one other), with pastel buildings ringing its perimeter and pretty boats anchored out. It's a docile Bay, unlike the rough South Shore. Wander over to the public pier at the end of Cambridge to fish or catch Baxters fishing charter. Although EXPENSIVE, Bermuda is breathtakingly beautiful ... and in my biased opinion, Mangrove Bay is in the 'top 3' of that beauty.

My husband and I walked to Mangrove Bay from the Dockyard. It's a long walk but pleasant if it is not too hot and there is a breeze. There are some shops but we just enjoyed the laid back feel of the Bay. The boats in the bay and the pretty buildings that dot Mangrove Bay make this little area a must see in our book. We also discovered a small beach with a good assortment of sea glass dotting the sand.

We spotted this almost private beach on the local bus route and decided to ring the stop bell and explore. Perfect snorkel spot and relaxing area... private really from anyone at there are two great places to eat within walking distance, perfect for a gorgeous picnic! Take bus stop into Hamilton to Mangrove Bay Rd. Stop. Worth the time to stop and drink in the beauty!

If you are touring Bermuda by boat, Mangrove bay is a nice place to check out. There are lots of turtles that come here to feed on the sea grass. You will see turtles coming up for air. They are quick, so it's difficult to get a photo, but it's a lot of fun.

Though there isn't much in Somerset, Mangrove Bay is a beautiful spot to take a break and look and the boats out in the bay. The houses overlooking the bay are very colorful.

It's a beautiful bay, and when you teem it up with a boat hire from H2O watersports you're in for a great day. I loved the bay, and sailing around it was brilliant fun. Also home to the wonderful Non-Mariners event in late July/early August!

I have to say, after all the other beaches in Bermuda, this one was quite unimpressive. Now a local told us that was because we were there during low tide which may be part of it but we didn't bother sticking around. Maybe it's better to see by boat too I don't know. We drove our scooter there intending to swim or snorkel but we took one look and decided that wasn't the best idea. Everything is close though in Bermuda so if you're up for it, go there first and decide for yourself and if you agree with me, head down the road to Somerset Long Bay. Good swimming there if you don't mind the seagrass.
