It's free and worth a stop, but I was expecting more. Last year we went to St. Croix, and the forts there are really impressive.

Our family of 4 paid $12 admission--totally not worth it. Nowhere to park close or get towed. When we finally found a place we could park it took only flourin change which we did not have and was a hassle to find. We have been to several Caribbean islands and was expecting more to see. Right before we got there... More

This relic is worth seeing if you happen to be walking by. It's small size raises one's curiosity about its hay day.

We walked over expecting to go in, but, while it probably was a fort in its day, it is little more than some small crumbling walls with a photogenic tower. Looking in from the outside, there appeared to be little to see, so we did not go in, although we did take a few photos from the outside.

This is a small museum that tells you something about the history of the island and its population. The displays are somewhat basic, but the accompanying info is interesting if you take the time to read it. On the day we visited we were lucky enough to be given access to the roof of the bell tower. You have to... More

Fort Zoutman is about 12-15 minutes of walking distance from the cruise ship pier. It is a colonial era historical museum. Entrance fee is $5 USD which is pretty reasonable. The lady at the counter can give you some information about the place. We explored inside where they have the historical museum and outside the fort, and found it very interesting... More

It was a lovely little Museum with some old artifacts from the former fort and had information of some of the former inhabitants. Not all the exhibits were in English, which is to be expected, of course! This is not a huge facility with a great deal of resources but still has some very interesting items!! The entrance fee was... More

Tiny fort, just saw it on the outside, by mistake we found this, while trying to find our way back to main street. Few cannons in front, some walls are still standing, can just imagine how it was back in the 1800s

Fort Zoutman , erected in 1796 , is Oranjestad's oldest building and houses a historical museum. Included in the exhibits are articles from earliest times through colonial days to the presen. An interesting place for historians.

Walked past here on our way to supper. The doors were closed, so not sure what else was there to be seen. Found the plaques after supper and it was dark so didn't spend the time to figure out all out. Nice to see some of the island history preserved.
