A 06-00 start was well worth the effort, a visit to the markets with the Chef Heinz von Holzen who showed and explained local produce followed by the fish market at Jimbaran then back to the Rumah Bali for an excellent breakfast. During the market visits and over breakfast many useful cooking techniques were explained, some in a serious way... More

In this place I have experience the true of Bali. The food, the hospitality, and the atmosphere. The staff are very nice, they offer us to taste sipping for food that we like to eat, but we ended up with satay - serves with rice and lontong, vegetables (urap), and non-skin non fat chicken satay. Very tempting

If you love cooking and Indonesian food, this is a must if you come to Bali. And then make sure you book the full package, including the trip to the market. This market trips is not only fun, but here Heinz teaches you already a lot of essential basics on Balinese cooking. Don't expect to be cooking yourselves the whole... More

We enjoyed our cooking class with chef Heinz von Holzen, He is a skilled chef, who gave us a lot of really workable and methodical information, combined with a good knowledge of the Balinese kitchen. He is a strict chef , that made us laugh quite a couple of times. Its good to take your food seriously, and always inspiring... More

this is a hidden gem along that road. We were staying at the grand mirage and stumbled upon BUMBU BALI. We went there twice in one day... food was fresh, service was on point and the presentation was the icing on the cake. keep it up

We were very excited to get a seat at the #1 rated and very busy local restaurant, however they seem to be a victim of their own success. The staff were nice enough, the service was average. The ambience was tourist trap and noisy. The food wasn't great, we've eaten similar at Roadside Warungs. It wasn't as authentic as proposed... More

The only reason I haven't rated this as excellent is that you don't actually do much cooking yourself. It is more of a masterclass with Heinz and his two chefs doing the preparation and actual cooking. I personally just got to stir a couple of saucepans and prepare some satays. However the detailed information that is given regarding spices and... More
