Best part is that there is no boredom while spending a good couple of hours or even the whole day here, the mine is packed with swings, slides, sitting areas, adventure "park", playgrounds, shops, a church even, something for everybody.
Caution, the floor is slippery. The stairs can be tiresome for the elder.

Only for kids and teens. For adults unless you want to eat and breath the salty air there isn't much to do

Opened daily, from 8 to 16. Affordable prices for 5 or more entries, both for kids and adults.
Not so big versus other salt mines from Romania. Had the unique escalade park, terrific for kids and teenagers.
You can play badminton, table tennis or voleyball but you need to bring your own equipment. From Mo to Sat guided gym for 1 hour.
During weekends becomes crowdy even if buses are working every 15 minutes.
Available parking outside.
Signal is okish but is better to stay away from devices, inhale salty air and perform physic activity.
Various attractions for kids, prepare with enough money!

Very nice salt mine. You can drink a coffee or tea inside. There are activities for young children. Unfortunately, the dogs are not allowed inside. The temperature inside is 15 Celsius degrees.

They have plenty to do for a few hours. There is an adventure park for children and adults, a chapel, a small museum, Pilates class, and coffee shows over priced. At the exit there is a restaurant (we didn’t try) and a small bar that didn’t impressed us much. If in the area I will probably return for the health benefits, besides that nothing else to make me go back.

I have stage three severe COPD, and when I first heard of Salina Praid, and Dr. Farakas, I was very skeptical., however I decided to go there as a last resort. The doctor reminded me that although there is no cure for my disease she believed the Salina would and could improve my quality of life.

Bottom line I did go to the Salina and spent four hours per day for 16 consecutive days in the mine. Results, although I required oxygen the entire trip flying from California to Budapest, on my return flight I required no oxygen. I have not used my emergency inhaler or nebulizer once in the seven weeks since I left the Salina. Although I do take my daily COPD meds. I can now walk a lot better and considerably farther, Although I do experience moderate shortness of breath at times it is nothing as severe as it was prior to the Salina. I am now living again. My life has greatly changed for the better and I cannot say enough about Salina Praid, Romania.

My wife and biggest supporter and I have decided to return next year for a month. Although this may not be for everyone ie; cost and time. It has truly helped me far beyond my initial negative expectations.

P.S. Although the Salina, is in Romania, the majority of the people in Praid are Hungarian. So the food is really great and a good Hotel costs between $35. To $50. Per night. Overall a wonderful experience.

The salt mine is a must see in Praid. It's very nice and spacious. There are buses which take you into the mine area and you also have to walk up and down some stairs which are quite steep. You can admire the salt formations, learn ore about the history of salt mining in the area, see the small chapel. There are also some shops inside. Worth spending some time there.

The area of the mine open to the public has been furnished with a variety of amenities and activities, to help those who are spending time in the mine for curative/therapeutic purposes a way to pass the time. So there is a chapel, games areas, a souvenir shop, a rope/climbing play area, a bar, washrooms, etc. If you are not interested in these things, it will not take you much time to look around the large cavern, notice the interesting patterns in the salt deposits, and be ready to go. Initial access to the mine is by bus, but keep in mind there are lengthy stairs to go down and to climb up again to access the mine chamber. Also, the floors are uneven and worn smooth, and the lighting can be poor, so watch your step. You may have to wait a while for a bus to return you to the surface.
