We visited here on a rather miserably dull day. I can imagine it would be much more spectacular on a sunny day but then you would probably get crowds! Stepping into the main body of the Abbey was a pleasant surprise. The architecture is very...More

Did a nice walk along the river and then went into the Abbey. It's one of my favourite places I've visited in Wales. The atmosphere and history is amazing.

Our short visit to Tintern Abbey was atmospheric and accompanied with a lot of history. With plenty of parking and a choice of cafe facilities in the same area it provides the opportunity to have a good and comfortable half day experience.

Interesting place to visit for an hour. Not a huge amount to see and you can see most of the structure from the road. Of course inside you get a better sense of the place and can read the plaques telling you about each area....More

Good to visit though we didn't feel the need to pay to go in as you can see most of it from the road! The entrance fee was a bit steep too. Nice cafe and pub on site. Plenty of parking.
