Quiet beach good for snorkelling or just stand there with the little fish swimming around your legs. Hard to recommend one beach over another as they are mostly good - this one is very safe. It is rocky though so wear reef shoes.

It was rocky so not good if you're a swimmer but great for snorkling. The fish were easy to see and for sun seeker there was sandy clearing amongst the palms for relaxing

Best spot to snorkel and the beach just south of the resort is pretty much deserted. Just be careful at low tide as the coral can be pretty shallow

Aroa beach is the best beach that I have ever visited. This is a super safe place to swim even for small kids. The visibility is awesome.

Aroa Beach was by far, our favourite beach on Rarotonga. It has a really great mix of sandy areas of swimming and coral for snorkelling.

What a great day we spent snorkelling on this beautiful beach. We were able to grab a bite to eat and a drink at The Rarotongan, it’s always great to sit on a stunning beach with a huge amount of fish for snorkelling, and get...More

Aro'a Beach was right across the road from where we were staying (Lagoon Breeze Villas) and the sand was very interesting - directly from the villas it was very coarse, like broken shells and corals, but on the left where the black rocks were immediately...More
