Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Wonderful little getaway from the city only 2 hrs out of Melbourne but feel like a world away. Great place in summer and just as special in the middle of winter. Very dog friendly and family friendly. Warm nights by the fire and beautiful days walking, fishing and exploring. Great place for surfing if that’s your thing too.

Quite a lengthy walk from the carpark to the beach in Summer but thankfully there are about 10 parking spots at the beach ramp to stop for 2 minutes and pick up your family and belongings. It's also another few minutes walk along the sand to get to the safety of the swimming flags. The lifeguards will use their whistle to coax you over to the flags. Apparently this beach is the 3rd most dangerous in Victoria. The tide also goes a long way out. Clean yellowish-coloured sand. Not much seaweed.

Very relax and enjoy our family time at beach. The beach is very clean. We went to pick pipi but not much to be seen. Most are very small size. We didn’t have much luck. Please make sure to apply for fishing licence in order to pick pipi if you are age 18 and above.

It was windy on the day we visit. The wave was strong too. Apart from that, we enjoy our time very much.

Amazing beaches & shops and short walk to patrolled beach#1 with great surf n boogie boarding waves. Walked along easy to beach 2-4 too. Shops have everything U need. Pharmacy has zinc n sunscreen. Op shop for anything U left behind. Supermarket is the go-to place from breakfast-lunch-dinner options which sells fresh bbq packs, alcohol, bakery items, frozen food etc. Cavity restaurant had amazing food & drinks & live music. Cafe had great food n coffee, fish n chip shop, pizza n ribs, icecream gelati shop. Maxines clothing/jewellery shop, hairdresser & clothing store, Walking is so easy from the main St (Jupiter Blvd) to beach#1. Bonus is you can drive yr car to beach entrance, do a 2 minute unload/drop-off family members, then go back to carpark 1 area to park yr car. Went fishing n kayaking at Anderson's inlet at Lower Tarwin, but Pub closed for renovations. IGA supermarket open with all U need. Great spots for fishing, sailing, kayaking etc. We love this area. Coming back for sure.

A beautiful unspoilt surf beach. Patrolled by an excellent surf lifesaving club during summer months this beach is great fun. Unless you are expert in surf, be sure only to swim at beach 1 in Venus bay, and only when patrolled and between the flags as conditions can be treacherous.

No. 1 Beach is a beautiful beach . It is also well serviced by the VBSLSC who provide a great service and make sure your safe when swimming.
You need to bear in mind it’s a Surf beach and treat with the required respect and be careful.
The only downside I see is the Pipi pickers they have no respect for anyone and are only interested in harvesting free Pipis . They also could do with cleaning up after themselves.

We enjoyed our beach walk, it was breezy but stunning. Dog was allowed on lead. So clean, thankfully no plastic in site just lots of cuttlefish, crab shells, people fishing and collecting pipis.

This beach was great, with low tide there was heaps of sand so no crowding. In summer it would be hard to get a park though as not many spaces. We saw some of the much advertised pippi hunters but we were there mid afternoon so might have missed others. There were only a couple of groups so not an issue for us.
