Gave it only 4 stars because the road was under 6 feet of sand from Hurricane Nate and thus impassible. But we understand it is a fantastic place to visit and thus drove a long distance to do so. Keeping our sense of humor about...More

Extraordinary craftsmanship of the fort. Especially for the time period it was constructed. I would definitely return when we go back next year. The history or the fort is simply astounding to hear, and seeing it makes it even better. To think this had been...More

Wanted stamps for my passport book. The ranger was most informative. You need to wear a hat and take water with you

$15 admission fees. Just for the broken walls. I did not want go much even it's free. It absolutely not necessary to go if Pensacola has a little more funs to enjoy.

Plan to spend the day at Fort Pickens. Walk the corridors of the 19th century fort. Have a picnic and snorkel on the Gulf or bay side of Santa Rosa Island. Great camp ground and fishing pier too.

Took cub scouts to fort Pickens while camping at Naval Live Oak wildlife preservation. They loved wondering around all the hidden tunnels and worked on junior ranger program.

There is a fee to get through a gate. I believe it was either $10 or $15 per car.

We were there in late October. It was cool, but we were still able to comfortably walk the beach. We didn't swim, but still enjoyed our time there.
