Even if you never get out of the car (YOU SHOULD!) the Gulf Islands National Seashore will work into your very soul. The sound of the surf and the sugary sand buff away your sharp edges. Dancing sea oats and amazing wildlife entertain your eyes. There seems to be a constant breeze, so even when the sun is dazzling, the... More

We took this route from Pensacola Beach to Navarre Beach. It was absolutely beautiful and nice to know parts of the seashore have been preserved in their natural beauty! Not a long drive - maybe 20-30 minutes and well-worth it!

Sugar fine white sand with emerald blue water! Picture perfect! Bit cool in March but we still got in water, built sandcastles and got sun burnt! Best beach for shelling! Found many treasures to take home. Very clean beaches. Many bath houses with flush toilets and showers to wash off.

We camped at Davis Bayou and found it to be very nice. It's small so make your reservations early. We were only able to get three nights and would have stayed six. The toilets and showers were clean. The smell of bleach greeted me this morning in the restroom which is a very good thing! 😉 It's a great Corps... More

Incredible opportunity to see the gulf coast in its preserved natural beauty. The sand is wind-swept, white and powdery. The small dunes are a special treat. You can drive through the area and find roadside parking places to park and walk right out to the water.

It's fantastic. Awesome! The drive (7 miles) is fascinating. You can bicycle the entire distance. There are some areas you can park or have a break (not many). The scenery is in red I left. At times you are driving in the dunes that are from 2-40' high and then suddenly you are driving 150 yards from the beach. We... More

There aren't many beaches in Florida that are this pristine. It's probably like all the beaches were before the development of all those condos. The ride through the national seashore is stunning, with white sand dunes on each side of the road. There are places where you can pull over and then walk to the beach. It's a mystical experience.

We are impressed with the areas Florida has for public access to beaches. Texas had the same in the Galveston area. We were just in Gulf Shores ALabama and it was hard to find a free public access beach. We stopped last at the beach by Fort Pickens. What a treat. Thank you NPS and the state if Florida.

The 'whitestest' beaches, very clear water and a 'relaxed-casual' atmosphere make this a must-visit vacation spot! Experience it!
