The brochure says this is an 8 mile hike, but the river is only 1.5 miles in and worth the walk. Steep switchbacks, but good alternative to the more dangerous hikes at Zion, many of which were closed when we were there.

Longer hike than most in the park but it’s worth it. Amazing view as a payoff and the trail itself is quite pretty. Go early in the day during warmer months to avoid overheating on the sun facing switchbacks. Take plenty of water and snacks....More

This hike is not an easy hike for many reasons. The length and the hills are tough! This hike is 4 Miles up to Observation Point and then 4 miles back down. The downhill was hard on my knees. My 14 year old cross country...More

I have a real problem with heights and knew I couldn’t do Angel’ s Landing so we opted for this instead. First mile is all up thru a series of switchbacks. Not fun. The second mile levels out into the canyon and it is amazing....More

Decided to tackle this hike and challenge my height anxiety. It did that and more. What a beautiful place and sights. Plan on packing lots of water/fluids during the hot months.sunscreen, and good footwear. This is a must see.

Awesome hike. It’s an 8 mile out and back (4 miles to the top) hike. Starts off with a pretty much steady elevation gain of 800’ before it levels off for awhile. And then it has another one of these big gains. Total elevation gain...More

Hiked Observation Point Trail in mid September after I found out weeks before that Angels Landing was closed. Originally planned to go up Hidden Canyon Trail, but that was closed also, so this was more of a "spur of the moment" hike. I am very...More

Start early! Easier to do when not crowded. Agree with strenuous and it is a 5 hour trek unless you are in top 10-20th percentile of fitness, then you can do it quicker. Lots of switchbacks, but better and better views the higher you go....More

Our first day in Zion National Park my partner and I arrived at the park early that day around 8:00 and decided to take the shuttle from the Visitors Center to the Observation Point / Weeping Rock shuttle stop and hike to Observation Point. Wow...More

This is a difficult trek. The paths are steep and uneven in places. You back and forth along the switch backs until you reach the top. The scenery is incredible throughout the trek so there is always the excuse of stopping to take a photo...More

I think what you see is very similar. From observation point you are higher and looking right at Angels landing. So, from Angels Landing you have an unobstructed view to the south and you are on a pinnacle so that's a big... More

Sorry I mean 3 miles each way. 3 miles fairly steep grade uphill.
