About a mile into the 8 mile round trip of this hike is a slot canyon that's worth the effort of the switchbacks and narrow but maintained trail. Swirling designs of sandstone mimic the colors and patterns seen in Antelope Canyon as the walls tower over your head. I continued on to the top but turning back here has shown... More

I hiked the trails of Zion National Park near Springdale UT with a group of six ladies on a four day hiking excursion. We saved Observation Point for the last day. This hike was by far the longest and most strenuous hike we did, with an elevation of 6508 ft and a round trip total of 10.2 miles. We started... More

Damn if this hike wasn't hard! Was it worth it though? Yep! The view was amazing. It is practically switchback city getting to the top and in sun most of the time. Make sure to drink lots of water and wear sunscreen. The hike took us longer because we stopped so many times to ogle at all the beautiful sites... More

This stunning view is well worth the hike to reach it. The hike is uphill - so be prepared! And bring water!

This hike is great! It is about 8 miles round-trip, but the trail is very well maintained and pretty easy: it feels like you are hiking on a paved trail for most of the 8 miles. Although note that the total accent is about 2500ft, so it could be tough for some people. However, the view from the top absolutely... More

I chose the Observation Point hike over Angel's Landing because of the more varied landscape and I am glad I did. The hike starts with a number of switchbacks with great views of the crayon floor. As you climb to the top, views change beautifully and the hiking terrain varies from slot canyons to wall hugging trails with big drop... More

I am a 51 year old woman who is honestly, not in great shape. I've been working harder to get in shape so maybe I should come back and try this again once I loose some weight and get in shape but I just want to warn you guys that this is a very hard hike! I've done Angel's Landing... More

The best view of Zion....You can see Angels Landing down below as your looking at the canyon. You are on the side of the mountain looking down, but the walkways for the most part is 3 feet or wider.

I was torn between doing Angel's Landing or Observation Point - had actually dismissed the latter due to the distance. But upon getting to the park office early, the decision about Angel's Landing was made easy as it was Easter weekend and we were told it was already packed. So we decided to hike Hidden Valley which also has exposure... More

Observation Point trail is classified as strenuous. We hiked along with our two daughters who are 10 yrs and 16 yrs old. We are not experts at hiking, but our family enjoys hiking and we have done 4 to 5 hour trails at our home town location (in Bay Area). On the way we saw few couples, who were 60+... More
