Since we were staying in Kanab for a couple of nights and intended doing the full Observation Point trail over the next few days we took the lazier option and did the walk from Patagonia Ranch to Observation Point. The drive up to the trail...More

Went for day trip from las vegas, 8 mile hike up and back. The views were spectacular, Jan was a great time to hike, not crowded and we were able to drive to the trailhead

Our 53 yr old knees did not relish the prospect of hiking up and then back down from the valley to the rim to get to observation point. So, we drove to the Zion Ponderosa Ranch Resort (which is just outside the east entrance of...More

There are numerous overlooks in the park, so many could be called “Observation Point!” All of them offer amazing views and opportunities for wonderful pictures. We really tried to see as many as we could, and honestly it was impossible to call any one alone...More

It may be tough to find a parking place, but even if you have to hike up the road 1/2 mile to get to the trailhead, it's still worth the hike. It has cliffs, cut out steps, caves, steel bridges, and great views.

Last year I did this and Hidden Canyon and Angel's Landing all in one day--a bit much. This year I just did this one. It is my favorite of the three, partly since Angel's Landing is such a zoo (packed with people), at least when...More

This was a hugely memorable hike. I'd do it again in a flash. Highlights for us were: 1. It's 'pleasingly knackering', never to the point of wishing you hadn't done it - we're moderately fit (usually do our 10,000 steps a day) but not really...More

Observation Point is a Zion National Park classic giving you views of Echo Canyon and rewarding you with an amazing view of the park. This 8-mile round trip hike has a more than 2,100 feet elevation gain. The sharp ridge you see in the center...More

Don't get me wrong Zion National Park is beautiful, but also slightly terrifying. Described as a strenuous hike, going up Observation Point took 3 hours and it was 2 coming down. It is absolutely stunning, the views are fantastic and the chipmunks are fun, but...More

We did this hike with a family of 5. It was pretty long and freezing when we started, but worth it for the views. I would recommend walking everyday in preparation for this hike because it is pretty tiring. Only thing disappointing was that the...More

I would only do one. Observation Point is behind, and much higher up than Angel's Landing. A more commanding view. Observation Point will take at least 6 hours round trip. Angels Landing is a bit shorter.

At the shuttle drop off...hike a bit and you can turn to go to weeping rock, or continue to observation point.
