This place is a hidden gem. Go back in time 60 years or so and see what one man and his wife did with the wonders of nature. It ranks right up there with any art museum. The rock sculptures, the history and knowing that one man completed it by himself over 20 years is amazing. They have a great... More

Our family takes National Park Trips year round. This latest quick trip was an attempt to check one off the list before school started. Going to a water based park is always tricky when you only have a few days and are not bringing or renting a watercraft. We were lucky that our resort host was willing to bring us... More

I would love to see this when the flowers were all in bloom. Just the rock formations were impressive. Definitely worth the hike though the garden!

It was an interesting place to visit and gave as a great break from fishing. Wasn't as good artistically as I anticipated, but enjoyable and clean. Worth the effort to go see.

If you get the chance while you are visiting Lake Kabetogama you have to stop at the rock gardens. The story that goes with the garden is amazing.

In the center of a pristine park lie the Ellsworth gardens that remind you of the Coral Castle (Florida) or the redwood carving outside the petrified forest (new mexico). Rock chipped in the shape of too many to mention items. The most unusual thing is you have internet and cell phone service (no other area in the park I am... More

You will need to find a guide or have a boat to get to the dock, but it is worth the effort. You'll find a self-guided brochure at the entrance with 15 stations that walk you through the gardens and statues that Mr. Ellsworth spent over 14,000 hours of his life creating. Two realities to contend with - black flies... More

Had just a few short hours to visit Voyageurs National Park. Ended up missing the scheduled NPS sponsored boat tour to Ellsworth Rock Gardens. Went to Arrowhead Resort on Lake Kabetogama and was able to hire a water taxi\pontoon boat ride over to the Gardens. The fee was $20.00 and I believe this is less than the NPS price. The... More

It's very pretty, walk the trails, take it in, you wont be disappointed. The history is something everybody should enjoy. You can even get married there! It's our favorite lunch spot!
