We drove up to the visitor center only to find it closed. I believe it must have been because it was after peak season. We didn't mind that. It was only unfortunate that a squall kicked up 10 minutes after we got there, and not only did we not have enough warm clothing, visibility diminished considerably to go hike around... More

This drive from sea level into the mountains is quite scenic. The road isn't scary, and there are several viewpoints along the way. We arrived at the top late in the afternoon. It wasn't a good time for photos. You could see the snow covered mountains, but the sun was behind the mountains. It might be better earlier in the... More

What a beautiful and scenic drive up. Did some easy hiking at the top for some great views the Straight of Juan De Fuca and British Columbia. We went at the end of October and the temperature at the top was 36 degrees and there was a recent dusting of snow.

Took a drive up to Hurricane Ridge during mid-October so it was a bit rainy and even had snow as we got towards the top. The visibility at the top was pretty much zero so that was disappointing. HOWEVER...the drive up to the top was unbelievable. We stopped at numerous pull off points on the way up and down which... More

The visitor center was very nice, we enjoyed visiting it. Unfortunately the day was very thick with fog so we were unable to see any scenery, which was what we wanted to see.

Caught this on a crystal clear sunny day so got to see the most of the views here...which are very nice, Easy short trails for the trail timid and more advanced for the real hikers. It's a bit of a drive but is beautiful.

What a beautiful place! We had some doubts because it was clouded in Port Angeles. But we drove up to Hurricane Ridge anyway. Halfway up, we were above the clouds. Wow, what a great scenery! We hiked to Hurricane Hill, an awesome hike.

Our guide on a whale watching trip that we took with Port Angeles Whale Watching recommended a trip up to Hurricane Ridge to end our day in Port Angeles. The drive was well worth it. The views were amazing. We saw many deer and even a black bear from our car.
