I was advised that the trip up to Winthrop was a must. It truly is breathtakingly beautiful, having said that, I was a solo traveler that has a bit of claustrophobia and fear of heights and coming through the pass I had to get out...More

Highway 20 over the North Cascades Pass goes past towering crags. It's wild and unspoiled country. There are several places to stop and view the majestic grandeur.

Peaceful and Bliss. No Traffic or Tour Buses. The roads are usually empty. Great views of the Cascades.

This highway is a great way to see North Cascade National Park is you are not into hiking. There are many pullovers & overlooks that give great views. All you need is some time & gas to enjoy some great scenery.

Take this drive if you have the time. We started out at 10:00 in the morning and went as far as Mt. Washington. There are lots of stops along the way to see spectacular views. Highly recommend.

Pleasant drive to the area and enjoyed the Ross Lake damn crossing by car. We also stopped at the Gorge ladder falls power plant which was a great nature walk.

You can drive through the North Cascades National Park and you don't have to pay for it at all! Many overlooks along the way to stop by and take great pictures.
