I visited North Cascades NP in first week of oct'2017 to see fall foliage. This hike fulfilled that wish and more. It's a loop so one can take either trail. However one is steeper than other in the early phases so figure out if you...More

Incredible views on this hike! Just note that while hiking in summer there is still snow near the top so be sure you have on your sturdy waterproof boots! I noticed several people with hiking poles. A must hike in the North Cascades

Wonderful, wonderful hike; had both flowers and snow! Went in July--had some areas of snow, but we didn't need our microspikes--snow was soft with little ice. It is about 7.2 miles RT, about 2,000 ft elevation change, steep in places, but the trail itself is...More

We met a group on the trail from Oregon with an 80 year old hiker - everyone should try this hike! Going up counter- clockwise is recommended for a more gradual climb and gentler in the knees. Our group split in 2: half took the...More

This is a wonderful loop hike. I prefer to go clockwise and get all the steep part over with first. Then when you reach the top you have views all the way down of Ann Lake and usually stunning views of all the Mountain peaks...More

This is a very busy trail, almost any time of the year, as it offers exquisite views of peaks, valleys and alpine lakes. Your first decision will be to go clockwise (with the steepness at the beginning) or counterclockwise (steepness at the end). My preference...More

Had a perfect sunny day hiking Maple Loop Pass in August 2016. Everywhere you turned there was a valley, beautiful mountain peaks and alpine lakes. The hike up was a steady climb and any reasonable fit adult or older child could tackle it if they...More

Great hike with awesome views. Hiked this trail early october. The fall colors were stunning. Did this counter clockwise. I continued my day hiking the Blue Lake trail which is a gem!!! It's a small hike so, if you have time, don't miss it!!

My husband and I hiked this loop counter clockwise . Both of us admitted that it's the most beautiful hike we have done so far . Took us 4 hrs with frequent rest enjoying the beauty around.

Well it is a well-defined trail and pretty straight forward in getting around the loop. Check parks bulletins for that information as each year is different depending on the snowfall levels fro the previous winter.
