Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

So most people want to go to the Hoh Rainforest and for good reason. But if you are strapped for time and don't want to wait in long lines at the Hoh Rainforest stop here and go for a little walk. This is basically the northern part of the rainforest and with the exception of the elk, you see basically the same landscape of ferns, trees, mosses. Obviously not as grand as Hoh but still a nice place to go with fewer people

This walk is across the main road at Longmire and goes in a loop. It's about 0.7 miles long and goes by homesteads, hot springs, and forest. It can be heavily trafficked, but on the Friday afternoon that we went, we were almost all alone! There is very little elevation gain and loss along the way. Be sure to check out the area around Longmire as well; we did, and we saw some deer. For those up for more hiking, there are other hikes nearby.

This trail is across from the lodge, where we were staying. We were stuck on a rainy day, but decided to take the .7 mile walk on this trail. It is pretty forest with easy elevation for all family.

This easy 0.7 mile, 30 minute roundtrip trail, is situated across the road from the Longmire Museum and National Park Inn. It emphases mineral springs, beaver pond, historic cabin, and huge fir and cedar trees. Longmire Museum stocks Junior Ranger Activity Books which can be enjoyable for kids.

We did this trail as the starting point to Rampart Ridge Trail. It is located at Longmire and this is a very easy and flat trail. There is a resident deer and her two babies who hang out on the trail and got within 10 feet of us which was cool.
If you are not into going on a strenuous hike this is perfect and allows you to appreciate the beauty of the woods at Rainier. This is also nice if you have small children.
If you take this to Rampart Ridge just know the climb up was very steep and strenuous but worth the challenge!! Half way through the trail you will see the divide and Rampart Ridge goes up!!

Signs to explaining along the way. Short and easy. Bubbling springs, enjoying walk. Drive from entrance, stop at lookouts

This interesting trail through the woods is not long or difficult, but is quite pleasant under the shade of the trees. There are many signs along the trail about the area's nature as well as the settlers who established mineral springs tourism here using the natural springs. The stone springs themselves remain as well as a cabin built by the first 19th Century settlers.

Most enjoyable walk after we left the Paradise Visitor Centre. The trails there were too slippery with the melting ice and we were not equipped for snow. The Rampart Ridge Trail was perfect for us as it took us about 2 hours climbing up. The view was worth it. On the way we met friendly fellow hikers. Lots of shade under the tall magnificent trees. We saw deers, squirrels and birds.

This is a short little trail that might be an okay walk to do if you are in the area and haven't yet driven up to Paradise. It would be good for families with little children.

Great for beginners, kids and family with no elevation gain, 0.7 Miles, 30 minutes round trip. Across the road from the Longmire museum and national Park inn, this easy loop trail circles mineral springs, a beaver pond, a historic cabin and massive Douglas-fir and western red cedar trees.
After the walk, visit Longmire Museum and/or have lunch at the National park Inn.
If you stay at the historic National Park Inn, you can take various other trails leading to waterfalls and lakes.
Reservation can be hard to get and book early!
