Don't miss this easy half-mile stroll (no hills). I recommend you do NOT look over the bridge until the end of your walk. This way, you will get an amazing surprise half-way through your walk looking into the canyon. It was thrilling and kind of came out of nowhere during the walk.

Nice little stop in Mt. Rainer National Park. Quick 15 walk to see a rushing river through a narrow canyon.

This is an easy stop on your way around Mt Rainier. The canyon is over 180ft deep but only a couple dozen feet wide. From the roadway bridge or the wooden bridge up the trail, you can look down to the churning waters that carved this slot in the rock. The trail is a fairly easy climb and gives you... More

Quick loop trail will take you to one of the most beautiful views of a meadow with majestic snow capped mountain peaks in the backdrop. Hummingbirds fluttered near us as we walked the gorgeous trail along the canyon. We were short on time and had much to see, so the 1/2 mile loop trail was the perfect exploration outside of... More

Dizzy look down into the canyon bottom where the rapids are. Best view from the bridge. Amazing moment. Worth stopping

This was few places opened during our June visit. There are two observation places at the same location. Not much to see.

This is a short easy walk with pretty views into the steep walled Box Canyon. Very impressive and suitable for most anyone.

This is a nice pit-stop if you're coming to/from Mt. Rainier. There is a short hike involved, not too difficult. But you are rewarded with a great view of the deep canyon afterwards.

This amazing canyon is located on Stevens Canyon Road 12 miles (19.3k) west of the Ohanapecosh Visitor Center or 17.5 miles (28.2k) east of Longmire. The canyon, as deep as 180 feet (55m) and as narrow as 13 feet (4m), has been carved though the dense volcanic rock by the Muddy Fork of the Cowlitz River. The rushing water carrying... More

An short hike to a very strange "box canyon". Narrow and deep--bridge goes over it to view. Worth a look for the short hike that it is.
