Incredible views and some of the best campsites I have ever seen. Unfortunately, the campgrounds were closed when we were there, even though it was still in September and the weather was warm. Well groomed trails and campsites along with sandy beaches and common areas would make this place a perfect retreat when the campgrounds are open.

Breathtaking. Had a brown bag lunch on some rocks on the shore of this amazing place and it was the finest dining I've ever had.

This place is part of Lake Clark NP. There're no roads within the park, nor there're any trails. If you are serious about backpacking this is the place to go. It does come with a price. Both, financially and emotionally. The single engine plane flight is about 90 mins long, one way. That means the total flying in and out... More

We camped at Turquiose Lake for five nights in early June. It was fantastic. Its a beautiful place for day hikes all around. We went with a small group organised by Alaska Alpine Adventures, a fantastic small company who know Lake Clark NP very well. They organise flights, food, tents and we had two great guides, Nick and Emily.

This tour was to meet 2 of our requirements on our visit to Alaska. First, to take off in a float plane and, second, to see bears in their natural habitat. The plane took off from Lake Hood near Anchorage and flew along the Cook Inlet and into the Chigmit Mountains. As we approached the Lake, we were stunned by... More

Turquoise lake is an absolutely stunning treasure in the Leadville area. It is a huge lake of crystal clear water surrounded by pine forests and spectacular mountain views. I was there to try fishing but unfortunately had no luck. The parking was ample when I was there in October but I would imagine in the middle of summer the parking... More

Turquoise Lake is one of my favorite destinations in Lake Clark National Park. It offers great caping. fishing, hiking, and photography opportunities. With the rugged mountains, alpine tundra, and glaciers, it is an ideal destination.
