We parked at the White Tanks Campground and walked to the Arch and surrounding areas. My 9 year old so had a blast climbing on all of the rock structures around Arch rock. The entire are is full of scaleable rock formations to explore.

During the peak travel season to the Joshua Tree National Park, get an early start. This is because the small parking spaces fill up very quickly. The employees in the Visitor’s Center made us aware that parking on the shoulder of the road is not...More

We hit this hike at the end of the day so my 80 year old dad was a little tired at this point. Thankfully the hike was a short one. Parking was easy because it was a Monday, but I could see how this would...More

This short hike provided lots of great photo opportunities with all the interesting boulders and surrounding Joshua Trees. Going late in the afternoon/early evening gave us nice low reddish light on the rocks. Parking was a problem as campers have claimed the spots for their...More

Parking was a nightmare in the campground with this loop trail. The trail was the most difficult to follow of all the trails we completed in JTNP. The rock was cool though!

It wasn't tough to look for public parking. It seems like parking are exclusively for campers only. We found a spot and we werent even sure if is for public use but took the risk. Arch Rock is .5 miles from the trail head. It...More

This area at White Tank campground is much more than just a .3 mile round trip hike to the "famous" arch. Once you pass the arch, snoop around - there is a giant round boulder hanging in the center of a vertical rock - like...More

The access to the Arch Rock is located in the Whitetank Campground. Parking is very limited. But the Arch Rock is easy to find, and very close to the North end of the campground, on a very short dirt trail. Nevertheless, a great place to...More

This was my second favorite spot in the park. I loved the rock formations. The arch made a beautiful back drop. There are bathrooms, camping spots, and spots to park.

It was a reasonably flat trail so I don’t see why not. Depending on whether the two year old is closer to three, they could also walk a decent amount if they were as crazy and active as my kids were at that age.
