First step is acquiring tickets for the ranger tour only available from the Oasis visitor center the morning of the tour! The tours are done on Thursday, Friday and Saturday and limited to 25 visitors per tour. The only way you can reliably get tickets is to join the queue at the Oasis visitor center at 7:45am the morning of... More

I ended my adventures through Joshua Tree NP with the Keys Ranch tour, which was very interesting. Note: Tickets must be purchased at the Oasis Visitors Center in Twentynine Palms. I'd advise arriving to the visitors center around 8:30 am, and waiting for the center to open; a ranger will see who's waiting to purchase tickets and will write down... More

You need to book the Keys Ranch tour in advance since only a limited amount of people are allowed in. You meet up with the tour guide 15 minutes before your tour, do not be late. It is an interesting tour letting you gain some insight to William Keys, his story and the story of Keys Ranch. You basically are... More

Very interesting tour to learn about the Keys family's way of life and how they thrived in the desert.

The tour takes you in the NP with a guide. Park Ranger Dave D. had a great way about telling the history of Keys Ranch and stops at each area of interest and describes what the history was on the building, machines, garden, trees etc. The tour is strictly on-foot so you will want to wear comfortable shoes, water and... The Keys Ranch Guided Walking Tour is listed as a National Historic Register Site, the property is located in a remote, rocky canyon in Joshua Tree National Park. The owner, William Keys moved to Joshua Tree in 1910 to work as a minor and over time established his own 80 acre ranch It's interesting to see their house and the... More

The ranch is only accessible with a guided tour by a Joshua Tree NP ranger. I did my homework on the US Park Service website and found out about this 10am Sunday morning tour, and am so glad I did. Ranger Sarah Jane took us on a very interesting walk through this beautiful and historic area. The history came alive... More

I loved this tour. The guide was very informative, and somehow I was interested in the history of the Keys' Ranch! :P I especially liked the parts where the guide told us about all the innovations of Mr. Keys. I visited this in 2012.

I took my children to see this at the ages of 7 and 9. Both of them were very interested in the story of Bill Keys and his ranch. Be sure to book a tour if you are in the Joshua Tree area. It's affordable and very informative.

Keys Ranch is located in Joshua Tree National Park. The ranch is in a state of decay and is only open to tours. There is a lot to see if you can get in. There are old buildings and structures. There are several on cars and old ranch equipment. There is even a dam built many years ago.
