We visited Sunday morning through early afternoon; the scenic views get better and better the closer you get to the top; don't forget to stop at the pull-offs, there are some great photo ops along the way, especially now when the wildflowers are blooming

A scenic mountain road that takes you through towering forests, along streams, past hiking trails and to towering overlooks. A beautiful mountain drive.

This scenic drive is the perfect way to see the Smoky Mountains. There are lots of great overlooks to stop at and the Newfound Gap Overlook is awesome as well. It’s definitely a must-do!

Worth taking the time to drive this slower, often windy road across the Smokey Mountains. In late February it was not too busy, although as an earlier reviewer has noted, slow drivers are not usually good at pulling in to let others pass, so allow...More

You will ultimately get behind folks who want to drive 10 miles per hour. They never want to pull over (in the provided pullouts) to let the line of cars behind them by. They just ignore all the signs directing them to do that. So,...More
