We live in the Northeast where the roads are wide, and guardrails are seemingly everywhere and the Roaring Fork road is the complete opposite of that, so know these things going in so you are not as surprised as we were. It would be very...More

This drive is well worth it. Skinny one lane road takes you through a beautiful section of the Smokys. We got out and hiked at Grotto Falls and we were able to see a Mama Bear and her cubs. Beautiful serene waterfalls and streams everywhere

Beautiful views. The rocks, water, scenery. My boys played in the cold water for just a bit and loved it.

The Roaring Fork Motor Nature Trail is a narrow and winding 5.5 mile long one-way loop with a lot of beauty and scenery. The speed limit is ten miles per hour. There are pull-offs that can be used to enjoy the forest and historic buildings...More

We spent the day driving through the Roaring Fork motor trail. There are many pull off areas where you can get out of your car and explore. Many small waterfalls to see along the road, if you can call them waterfalls. There is one large...More

This is one of those hidden gems that must be seen to be believed. This is about an 11 mile one lane paved motor trail. This trail is not for the faint of heart. There are severe drop offs and no guard rails. The bridges...More

Great auto tour. 1. roll your windows down. 2. turn your cell OFF or down if it's your camera. 3. turn your radio OFF and OPEN your eyes and ears. Nature will ROAR!!!!! Trail has two overlook pullovers and 1000 drips cascade.

This a nice ride. There are cabins and other stops to see along the way. The road is narrow and many turns and cutbacks. We went early and there were only a few cars on the road. The time we finished the road was getting...More

Yes, I drive a SUV. Just take your time around some of the turns. There are plenty of locations for the dog. I would recommend if you have the time to go through Cedes cove scenic drive. It is longer than Roaring Fork, but... More

Rainbow falls is open because it's accessible from the other small loop but the main road for Roaring Forks is closed.
