This is a good place to pull of and relax, enjoy the lake and, maybe have a picnic. Parking is easy and there are many trails to hike.

If pressed for time or not up to a tough hike, this is the spot. Right off the parking lot near Jenny Lake lodge you can spend 30 minutes or a couple of hours walking along the lake and enjoying the reflections of the Tetons in the water. This is more of a walk in the park vs a hike.

The trail to this lake runs along string lake which is just lovely and then arrived at Leigh Lake which is dazzling. It is an easy walk with a great payoff off this gorgeous lake at the end.

This was one of our favorite hikes in GTNP. Leigh lake is a sweet, quiet lake. A trail goes around the lake and is good for all levels of ability. Don't miss this one!

We paddled into Leigh Lake and camped at site 12B for two nights. What a beautiful place! I couldn't have chosen a nicer place to spend my 40th birthday. The lake experienced very heavy winds on the afternoon of our second day, which lasted late into the night. If you want a peaceful paddle on the lake, do it early... More

I have lived in Jackson for 38 years and will say that this is one of the most peaceful, beautiful places in the Park. To kayak in this lake you must start in String Lake and go to the right….all the way and pull your boat out of the water. Then follow the boards to Leigh Lake which is about... More

This trail is about 2 miles and level, so even people who are not in the best shape can enjoy this hike. My mother has severe back problems and was able to do it with no problem. The views are astounding! So worth going!

This trail is well paved and the lake is absolutely gorgeous. We went in the morning and there was no one else out. It was quite chilly but warmed up quickly. The water is CRYSTAL clear (I even drank out of it using my Lifestraw!). Don't need to do the entire hike to see the lake, either. Supposedly there was... More
