The trailhead parking lot is just past Teton Campground, at 7,200 feet elevation. You don't have to walk far to take in some truly stunning mountain views, with snow visible even in August, and a carpet of wildflowers beyond your dreams. It's the sort of...More

Like the surrounding area, the section that is the Targhee National Forest is also really beautiful. A lot of great pullouts, some trailheads, and camping. The Snake River comes through here and it's truly stunning.

We passed thru the National Forest going from Yellowstone to Jackson Hole. Its a nice peaceful place to drive and to stop. There are a few small villages along the road which looked good too.
