One of My Favorite Hikes Ever!

Would recommend going all the way to Lake Solitude. Make sure you give yourself plenty of time - leave early in the morning. We saw moose up close twice. The variety of scenery is... read more

This is a beautiful place to go if you can walk the steep inclines. It is the elevation that gets to you. The walk is fairly easy and the views are fantastic. I would like to do this again

Would recommend going all the way to Lake Solitude. Make sure you give yourself plenty of time - leave early in the morning. We saw moose up close twice. The variety of scenery is fantastic and keeps it interesting throughout.

I took the 20 mile hike up Paintbrush and down through Cascade Canyon. I recommend anyone that has the time and stamina that can make this hike should. The Cascade side was not as impressive as the Paintbrush hike up and over the mountain divide. That being said, it is still gorgeous. If you can't make the full hike, it... More

We had one mission once we reached inspiration point, to continue on until we saw the moose that all of the descenders were squawking about. A ranger that morning told us to go as far as we had time for into cascade canyon because of the beauty, and she was right. We made it to the river flats where the... More

As I said about the Canyon itself, it is about 10 miles round trip to, although heavily traveled, hike with others and bring bear spray. Look for moose around the creek!

THE must-do hike! The climb is rather strenuous if you're out of shape (if you're REALLY out of shape don't do it!), but not too bad for most people. After Inspiration Point (1 mile), if you're pooping out (or your kids are, or your time is limited) you should nonetheless continue about another mile (20 min) into the canyon (flat... More

We have two teenagers 13 and 16. We took the ferry early across Jenny Lake (8 am) before the crowds hit. We hiked up to Inspiration Point and continued on through Cascade Canyon for a ways, which was the best part of the hike as we saw three bull moose feeding on the will near the stream running through the... The hike up to Inspiration Point was ok. The trail to Cascade Canyon is good, but don't go all the way to the "fork". The scenery is best when the canyon first opens up and then good again when you get to where the creek is in the open. After that you are just going thru trees without much additional... More

You have to get to Inspiration Point first to start the trail, but it's worth the hike. Beautiful valley with a great waterfall off a glacier. You can hike as far in as you like.

I heard from multiple people including locals that this was one of the best hikes they've been on. There were parts that were amazing, but there were also parts that were so so. If you hike up to Inspiration Point, the best part of the Cascade Canyon Trail is about .5-1.0 miles after. That's where the place most people are... More
