This area is blocked off and closed during the Government Shutdown. We have been here previously and you can walk around some interesting ruins outside and there is a small shop and museum which are worth a visit.

Found this while driving the south rim of the canyon even the 6 year old was fascinated with the ruins. The little visitor center has a nice museum type display. There was even an Indian garden

A short walk around about 800-hunderd years old village ruins, the walk takes less than 15minutes. The museum is in same perimeter.

A very nice, educational hike. Well worth the drive. Great views of the San Francisco mountain range. The Lodge/museum is rather small though.

We arrived at the ruins in time to join the ranger in a walk through the ruins. She was extremely knowledgeable and informative, explaining what the various types of structures were for. Take the time to visit the museum
