Along red shuttle bus route, another spectacular view point over Grand Canyon. Nice unobstructed views of the valley.

Our recent and first trip to the Grand Canyon included pulling off the road to view the canyon from many wonderful viewing points. We enjoyed the Maricopa Point which was a viewing point that allowed us to capture some excellent photos.

Maricopa Point was our last point view on the rim hike from Hermit’s Rest. Here Grand Canyon forms a narrow promontory, extending northeast then dropping vertically and continues much lower down as a thin ridge between Horn Creek and the larger Garden Creek. From here...More

A little more intimate viewpoint than some of the others. You are able to see some close up details, before the view opens up to a vista of the canyon. This is the first look we had at hikers on the Bright Angel Trail.

It is hard to go wrong when trying to find a great location along the south rim. Maricopa Point is but one of many excellent choices.

I felt that the West Rim Drive had some of the better, and less crowded, overlooks. It's a bit of a different perspective and should be done if you are in a vehicle.

This is one of early stops where you can get off the shuttle bus (or get back on) The views are amazing and the point sticks way out into the canyon for some great panoramic shots.
