What a view, great views to the Canyon. Located at the Desert View Dirive. Not so crowded than Mather Point.

Went here because closest to north rim, so it is a bird migration point. Didn't see a bird but best view of the day, desert tower second and Mather Point was third.

This particular point allows for great PANO pics. There are railings here to good if you have younger children too.

You have to stop at all points on the south rim to get the full effect of the GC and Lipan Point is just one of many must see stops.

Do not miss this viewpoint on your South Rim tour. Staggering. Look down, and you see the bones of the Earth, and hear the voices of the Ancients.

This location is not too far from the Tower, but it still provides a different angle to see into the canyon. This was one of my favorite overlooks we experienced on our trip. The observation area is also just a few steps from the parking...More

.There are lots of places with great views and this is one and you can drive there. We had some weather so the sky was quite dramatic

We watched the sunset from Lipan Point. The views of the river at the bottom are excellent. To the right, the painted desert is off in the distance. The sunset was vibrant and the photos cannot do it justice.

We asked around and this point was suggested for a sunset. It was very pretty! Make sure you stick around after the sunset because the sky behind you is even more beautiful.

We took a guided bus tour and enjoyed it very much. i recommend going this route as you can focus on the sight seeing and not on the driving and parking.
