Came here quite early in the morning - after having seen the sunset at the Grand Canyon village. I think it would have been even better here. Short drive from the rim drive. Worth the detour.

We started on the north rim and hiked through the canyon and this was by far my favorite view. You can see more of the canyon from one spot than anywhere else including the Colorado River at the bottom of the canyon.

This particular point allows for great PANO pics. There are railings here to good if you have younger children too.
You have to stop at all points on the south rim to get the full effect of the GC and Lipan Point is just one of many must see stops.
