Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

This was one of our early morning stops after we saw a sunrise. The view is grand for sure. We also walked down the Grandview Trail just a bit to see what it was like. It would be an amazing hike. This is one location I would make sure you stop at.

An awe-inspiring view; our favorite along the South Rim. You can see for miles in all directions. It wasn't as crowded as the main visitor center or Desert View Tower, either. We were there in late morning, which means the shadows and colors aren't as dramatic as they are near sunset or early morning, but it was still amazing.
We very much enjoyed coming up from Flagstaff to the eastern entrance. There is a lot more to see--those huge vistas, different plants, ranches and other landforms--than driving back south from the main visitor center. There weren't any waits to get in, either.

This is one of the viewpoints along Desert View Drive in the Grand Canyon. Desert View Drive is a few-mile stretch from the east to the Grand Canyon Visitor Center. There is a $35 per vehicle entrance fee to the Grand Canyon National Park. There are no toll fees for using any of the roadways from and to the Grand Canyon National Park (Google Maps shows toll fees, but there is no toll fee). Just pay the entrance fee.

All viewpoints are free. This viewpoint has restrooms. Not all viewpoints have restrooms. See the photo attached) All viewpoints have parking spaces.

Hope you take a magnificent picture of the canyon from this viewpoint!

Be safe 😊

We arrived late afternoon and saw the canyon as the light was fading. We had booked the 1/2 hour helicopter flight early next morning which was unfortunately was cancelled due to cloud cover in the canyon. We went back and saw the canyon as the cloud came and went which was spectacular and eerie. I’d say visiting the Grand Canyon is the No 1 thing to do before you die.

This view point is the last view point accessible by car before entering the village from the east entrance. The views here are wonderful. Don't miss it.

This is one of the overlooks on the East road. Its maybe 15 min from the visitors center. Limited parking. The site of an old hotel and the first major tourist area of the park until the railroad was completed. Worth the stop.

This viewpoint is very nice and also has a trail starting here. It can get crowded and parking is limited, so plan accordingly.

Nice views. Bathrooms available. Not as much parking as other stops and very congested. Many were traversing down a path that leads further down into the Canyon. Seemed to be more of a quick stop for most.
