The shuttle buses will drop you at multiple places along this trail. We parked at the visitor center, took the shuttle west then walked back along the trail. There are restaurants and facilites along this trail along with a collection of ancient rocks and descriptions....More

This is an easy hike. We went from Mather Point to the Village, the trail runs right along the canyon. If I had children with me I would be very nervous, there aren’t any safety guard rails. It’s a beautiful and easy walk.

Be prepared to share the rim walk with families and leashed dogs. Many stop to take selfies or to step around the large stones marking the edge of the path. Sit a while yo soak in the splender. It can get very windy, so hold...More

The rim trail was well maintained and great way to view the Grand Canyon from many different view points. Pretty safe overall and several miles you can walk to view. Canyonlands nibs about 10 miles apart from north rim.

We too the Rim Trail from the Yavapai Museum to the Bright Angel lodge as well as segments on the west side going to Hermit’s Rest. Most of the trail is paved and flat, and some areas are wheelchairs accessible. There is a geological segment...More

We started our hike just behind the Visitor Centre going west. With so many stops for photos and gazing into the Canyon, we didn't seem to get very far in a 4 hour round trip. We got as far as El Toro (The Village) before...More

You might try taking the red shuttle along Hermit’s Road. It’s a long ride with lots of stops. You can look at the map as you ride and see how far it is to the next stop. Then you and the kids can get out at any stop that... More
