Unlike the trails down into the Canyon, this is relatively easy trail to walk, even in a strong wind. You get quite different views of the canyon by walking from the Visitor Centre by the car park to the start of the red bus ride by the station.

After hiking down into the canyon on Bright Angel Trail the day before, we decided to take a leisurely hike along the rim. The views along the way were exceptional and the hike is relatively flat on paved path. During the day, the trail can be quite crowded, especially at key observation points such as Mahler Point. It is actually... More

The trail is flat more or less. Walk takes about 3 hours, if you walk slowly, stop to have a rest and take photos or visit museums on your way. I recommend to start at the Visitor center from a documentary about the Grand Canyon.

I am a consistent weekend city hiker here in Phoenix, AZ. I hike camelback, squaw peak, etc. so was unsure if I needed additional training before trekking South Kaibab and up Bright Angel. I chose to hike with my BF around my Phoenix hikes but stepping it up by hiking these city peaks twice each time. I have bad knees... More

Walking along the rim was breath taking. We make about a half mile walk. The trail was well marked and maintained. The trail was marked as handicap accessible but it would still be difficult with a wheelchair because of the inclines. Out eight year old enjoyed the walk. The scenery of the Canyon and the woods along the trail are... More

We spent a couple of hours on the Rim Trail, viewing the Canyon and town sites. This is a paved easy walk.

I grew up in AZ but hadn't been to the Grand Canyon since I was a little kid and it did not disappoint. The views are so amazing it will bring you to tears. The Rim Trail is more of a paved walking path rather than a trail but there is no shortage of places to stop and get a... More

Take the time and do the full rim trip. Buses will shuttle you from point to point if you do not want to do the full walk. It is worth the time to see the canyon from different vantage points. At Pima point you can hear the Colorado River!

Great for children and older adults. Follows the rim and the views are amazing. Great information presented along the way. You can walk for hours or minutes. The path is paved and flat. It is a great way to enjoy the beauty of the Grand Canyon!

The South Rim trail, both west and east from the village are both spectacular ways to see more of the canyon. You can hike along the rim 8+ miles west and the vistas are all awe inspiring. There are a few spots going west that have protective railing to get a really close look, but many of the sheer drop... More
