WOW!

If you do one thing at North Rim, hiking out to Bright Angel Point and enjoying the views for as long as you can should be that thing. Absolutely amazing! One thing to note...while the trail is paved, it is pretty steep out and back.

We liked Bright Angel Point the best on the South Rim
Oct. 2021
Our large bus tour stopped at Bright Angel Point in addition to Mather Point. We liked Bright Angel the best - - the vistas out over the canyon are absolutely awesome. The main observation point is easily accessible. There is also a trail along this portion of the rim, so you can hike as long as you wish and/or have time for. There are clean restrooms here, a nice eatery, gift shop, and little museum depicting the role of "The Hardy Girls" in catering to tourists in the early days that brought day visitors by train.

Freaky but the view is breathtaking!

If you have issues with heights then skip this! I’m normally ok with heights but nearly had a panic attack after walking across a narrow part of the trail with deep, steep canyon drops on both sides. Do not let your kids run ahead on this one or climb the rocks. The drops are miles deep. I was still shaking after I got off the trail. I did go to the end with a couple who had me walk with them.

Great Viewpoint
Sep. 2021
Great viewpoint. We were here at sunset and sunrise, since it's so easy to get to if you are staying at the Lodge. Despite that proximity, it's not very crowded (which amazes me - but I guess people like to sleep in on vacation even at one of the great wonders of hte world). There are some large rocks you can safely climb up for an even more remote feeling.

Definitely worth the effort to see the views
Sep. 2021 • Couples
We checked out the lodge and then walked out to see the views at the end. It does go downhill mostly and with the elevation you get to huffing and puffing a bit. We just took our time and stopped to catch our breath a bit in the shady areas. That’s what many people were doing. It’s does go up & down along the way and it’s a fairly short walk. It’s definitely worth the views along the way and at the end.

This is a short trail near the Grand Canyon lodge. Beautiful views and easy for older people. Definitely a must see on the North Rim.

Best view from the lodge area

Easy and fairly short hike from the lodge. Kid friendly. Great views from the North Rim. Easy to go out at different times during the day as the sun and clouds will change the view.

Fingers of canyons block the expanse to the south rim here. Bright Angel Point leads you out for a great view with ease

Magnificence.

We only spent an afternoon seeing the Grand Canyon, and this is one of startlingly gorgeous views we found. There are many more spots like this, all of them unique and mesmerizing.
