Word of mouth has that the more remote, harder to get to and therefore less crowded North Rim offers a more authentic Canyon experience and better views. However, there is no bus service on this rim and it is closed during the winter.

Thanks to Pappilion Helicopters for a very early morning flight over both the North and South Rims of the Canyon. It was great to get up and close, would have preferred if we could have drooped down a bit below the rim but I guess...More

This is I must see, much different look than the South Rim and as a bonus not as busy a more kicked back relaxed feel. Great views from any where you sit down. Be sure to walk out on to Bright Angel Point.

We visited the South Rim a few years ago and wanted to check out the North Rim. Reviews said not to go to the North Rim unless you have already been to the South Rim... I STRONGLY agree with this statement. The view was OK,...More

The North Rim is about 4 hours from the South Rim and my friends and I had our doubts making the trip just having experienced the beauty of the South Rim. However, I must say the drive is worth it. The North Rim is much...More

We experienced the beauty of the South Rim last year and we had heard that the North Rim was even better. We found that the North Rim was, indeed, better in that it was quieter with fewer people and less activity than the South Rim....More

This is an iconic national park worth the drive in. It is quite the view once you arrive at the edge, be sure to camp on the north rim or snag a cabin!

Less people visit the north rim than the south rim. Staff was friendly. The view is amazing. Food at the restaurant outside of the lodge was great.

The north rim is a much quieter experience than the south rim. We were there in August and it wasn't crowded at all. There is a nice scenic drive that you drive on your own. No need for shuttle buses. Lots of nice hiking options....More

The North Rim is the least populated by tourists. Unlike the South Rim, the North Rim has no rails. We hiked the Bright Angel Trail (see review on that one). There are several trails if you want to get different views of the Canyon. I...More

We were on a road trip so had a specific route which meant we had come from Las Vegas and stayed in hurricane so we could visit Bryce Canyon , and Zion national park. Both of which were fantastic. .

None of the trails on the North Rim are all that strenuous till you attempt to go into the canyon. But there is plenty to do that is more difficult (e.g., longer) than Bright Angel. I'd start with the Transept Trail -- you... More
