Word of mouth has that the more remote, harder to get to and therefore less crowded North Rim offers a more authentic Canyon experience and better views. However, there is no bus service on this rim and it is closed during the winter.

I thought the views from the North Rim were great but I was more impressed with the views from the South Rim. However, if you go down into the North Rim on the trails, the views are much better.

Drove up from Phoenix via Sedona and Oak Creek Canyon. A must do with anyone's first trip to Arizona.

In addition to big hordes of tourists, the place is magical. The name is incredibly suitable for the location and it is definitely a must on the west coast trip. Be prepared to pay an entry fee for cars of $ 30. Well worth it....More

For great views of the canyon and some solitude, head for the North Rim. Pay attention to winter road closings in you plan to travel between October and May.

Does it really need another review? Well worth a visit! This was our first one. And we enjoyed it! We just could do the little hike from the Lodge to Bright Angel Point and take in the view. Why do they call it "Grand Canyon"?...More
