Right off of a pullout, the falls are easy to get to and enjoy. There are a few trails around if you want to get different views, but not necessary to enjoy the falls.

Hiked in winter as one of the only accessable parts without a bike. So beautiful the water id so clear and flowing fast in April.

I walked this trail in late October 2016, and parts of it again in late March 2017 (walked up Going-To-The-Sun Road from the road closure gate at Lake McDonald Lodge area). It’s a picturesque short hike that takes you past lower McDonald Falls, and the...More

I had a vision in my head of where I would want to fly fish and take a photo of me doing so. I couldn't have asked for a better location. Crystal clear running water, wonderful rock formations, green and snow-capped mountains, made this spot...More

The waters are shaded blue and white, the pools are stunning in colour. The trees and waterfalls make this a very easy hike from numerous parking spots. Take your camera, there are some excellent photo opportunities on the way.

The parking area from the Apgar Visitor Center to the horse stables provides a parking area to then take a short walk to the bridge crossing McDonald Creek. The mountain views are wonderful, even during the summer when there is little or no snow visible...More

Pull over, along the Creeks Valley, stay near the water, close your eyes and listen to the voices of nature. An incredible spot to stay awhile and take many pictures

We went to one of the pull offs for the McDonald Creek Cascades. There are two observation desks just above the cascades. The water was crystal clear and you could really feel the power of it.

It's great to sit next to the river and just listen to it... Might as well take a few pictures while you are at it!
