As always, the rangers operating the VC were great helpful friendly and informative. The outside displays were much better than the inside displays. For the size and scope of the west side of the Park, I guess i expected more from the VC. Bathrooms were clean and it is a beautiful setting.

Naturally you think of the Visitor's Center for information, and that is true. Maybe more importantly than park history and places to visit, you will learn where the bears have been located and where trails are closed because of them. That information will sometimes save you frustration or a lot of driving if the trail you were hoping to hike... More

Each area of the park has a visitor center and the latest updates on the area are available here. Safety information on wildlife, what trails are open or closed (it varies, depending on a variety of conditions) and about anything else you might want or need to know. Staff is always helpful and friendly.

This is where all the latest information is located, and where the extremely helpful rangers, guides and volunteers work. Ask a question - they really want to help. This is also the place for the tours and red buses. Toilets may be on the limited side, but in late September there were no crowds. Did you know there is free... More

Rangers are very helpful and informative. I wonder just how many questions they get each season it must be in the tens of thousands. Great place to get direction, get questions answered and to find out what is open or closed.

we came in here short on time and the rangers did an awesome job of getting us in to watch the safety video of how to run the bears off which was kinda comical, ;"),, but the scenery once you get through there is just absolutely amazing, we were at Logging Lake for 3 days Canoeing and we had a... This was our first visit to GNP and we were treated to great rest stop at Apgar. There is a restaurant that is very good, with a patio and boat and dock access. The lake view is tremendous and the park service uses the grounds in the area for scheduled activities throughout the spring and summer seasons.

This is a small but neat center with clean restrooms. There weren't many static displays inside nor much for sale. However, they do sell bear repellant, which could come in quite handy when camping or hiking in the park. There are some displays exposed outside but, as it was raining, we didn't read them. The rangers were quite informative, able... More

I was hoping that this center on the west side had a lot to offer. It had little to no education and seemed like a place to buy things.
