This is a very popular hike to a beautiful waterfall. However, I would recommend you do it early in the day as as it's popularity increases trail traffic and parking options by midday. The terrain provides easy access to the warerfall. The beauty of the falls and...More

We ended up seeing Baring Falls twice. The first as a hike and the second time as part of the St. Mary Lake boat tour. Both times were very enjoyable. The hike is a bit steep at first but levels out after about .2 mile.

Start on the opposite side of the road. Very short steep walk to an impressive rapids. The hike to the falls is very impressive and fairly easy. The finale to see the actual falls is ok, not great but lots to see along the way.

This is a short hike that ends with a beautiful waterfall. There is plenty of parking at the trailhead(at least one of them). The trail is uneven but enjoyable.

We stopped at Rising Sun Picnic area after a long..traffic congested drive on GTTSR. The picnic area was a pleasant relaxing stop. We looked around & saw there was a trail to Baring Falls. We packed our lunch in a back pack & headed off...More

Nice falls on a hike we visited several other great falls. This is the least visited and gave us a chance to pause and admire.

We hiked from the Rising Sun parking lot to the falls. Sign says it's 0.6 miles, but I'm suspicious it's further than that! Trail is uneven with loose rocks and with elevation changes. Not for those in poor shape. BUT, when you get to the...More

We were lucky enough to not be able to find a parking space at the St. Mary trailhead. This was only about 6 miles from the trailhead and we continued on to St. Mary Falls and Virginia Falls along St. Mary Lake. If you can...More

This waterfall is only .6 miles from the parking lot so we hiked to it but after having visited Virginia and St. Mary's falls I will have to admit that is was quite anticlimactic. I think I enjoyed the view of St. Mary's Lake along...More

Super place to cool off on a warm day. Easy to get to and very photogenic. Very cool log bridge over the river.

It's 0.7 miles round trip. Fairly easy trail from my perspective. Hike734's map says 100 ft elevation gain/loss. Be sure to take bear spray. Do a search for hike734, Day Hikes for GNP map. It's well worth the cost and... More
