Easy drive on pavement with a large number of places to stop for pictures or walks. Could be trouble if rain but then this is death valley and rain is rare.

Amazing rock formations and colors. You can stop along the way and walk around. Take a chair and enjoy lunch.

This one-lane, one-way road offers a number of very pretty views of pastel-hued rock formations. There is parking at two sites (one is Artist's Palette) and several pull-outs at scenic spots along the road. On a sunny day, late afternoon offers the best illumination for photos.

The road was very smooth and the drive was amazing :) the views were beautiful. Plenty of places to stop off to the side to soak in views and capture your favorite photograph. The colors were incredible.

Took the drive in late afternoon when it was hot and sunny, but was told by a Ranger that it is especially good on a cloudy day when the colors are more vibrant.

After closure due to the 2017 floods, this beautiful drive is again accessible and sports new pavement. The entire loop is but a half-hour, so take your time and enjoy it at 15-25 mph.

This is a great loop drive, be sure to take your time and get out of the car at each pull out so that you can enjoy the view in all directions. Watch for the colors formed by all the natural minerals in the rocks and soil as you drive. Be sure to stop at Artist's Palette and read the... More

Lovely drive with lots to see and take in along the way. It's a loop drive so easy to make your way around and stop at all the sights.

The paved road has just been completed follow damage from the rains. The colors of the hills are amazing and the drive moves through many interesting areas with views.
