I read the reviews and wanted to check the place out but hiking and biking? It was near 120 and that was near the evening and it was just too hot. We were able to get views of the mountains and we were happy. Perhaps,...More

We liked the vista views of the Panamint Mountains when we were visiting Death Valley National Park. In the cooler season, its a nice place to take a hike or go on a mountain bike ride.

After 4 hour's of driving through Death Valley, we found Panamint Mountain's looked pretty much like the rest of the mountain's in the Death Valley area. Again, glad we can tick the box so to speak, been there, done that.

My wife and I cycled the Panamint Mountains....a gorgeous site. I do not recommend cycling this unless you're in good shape and workout in the mountains--it is quite difficult.

Another geologic wonder of Death Valley. It's fun to follow the bands winding their way around the mountains.

Have lived in California over 30 years and never got out to Death Valley. Expected just desert. The highlight of my trip were the mountains. The view of Telescope peak dusted in snow from Panamint Springs was a real surprise. Enjoyed driving over Towne pass.

This is the main view from Furnace Creek. It amazed me - standing in the desert and looking at snow capped mountains! Photos come out great too.
